"Fuuuck!"
Once his shift was over, Robby hopped on an elevator and headed up to see his favorite patient: you. You weren't the only reason Robby went up to that particular room, though. Abbot was in a chair next your bed when Robby entered. Both you and your partner Jack turned toward the angry attending as he stomped into your hospital room.
"Hello to you, too," Jack greeted sarcastically.
You hit Abbot playfully on his arm. "What is it?" You encouraged Robby to vent.
Robby did just that. He started going on about a mistake Santos made and how Garcia tried to take the blame for it.
"Well, I don't blame her," you shrugged, "You are a little misogynistic."
Jack couldn't stop a bark of a laugh from passing through his lips.
Robby ignored Abbot and stared at you. "What?"
"Yikes, no one's told you this before?" you half-cringed.
For a second, Robby stood there, trying to figure out just what to say to that. "No. No one's told me that before because it's not true, right?" He turned to Abbot.
The veteran put his hands up. "Hey, I'm not saying shit."
"I mean, I guess it makes sense," you were still speaking matter-of-factly, "No one's told you because you're an attending. And a white dude."
Robby couldn't believe his ears. "I'm sorry, but what you're accusing me of is something very serious."
"Well, it isn't really."
He blinked. "Excuse me?"
"I've never seen or heard of it affecting your work, and a lot of the guys I've met are the same way. I mean, look at Langdon."
That genuinely pissed him off. "Do not go and compare me to--"
"Sorry," you apologised, "Touchy subject, I know. What I don't know is now that you know about it, are you going to do anything about it?"
Again at a loss for words, Robby looked at Abbot.
The latter just shrugged. "Hey, there's a reason I fell for her. She's as straightforward as it gets."
Robinavich blinked, than resteadied his balance. "Okay. Though I have to say this is a shock to me, I must also say there is a chance I've been blind to these tendencies. I will look out for them in the future and do my best to right them."
Sitting back in bed, your tired eyes smiled at your partner before commenting, "That's all a gal can ask for."

You keep your eye on the queen, and the knights, and the bishop, because they are the sneaky ones. But it’s the rook that often gets you. The straightforward is never quite what it seems.
