This is a collection of 7 works so far based on the premise that Wen Ruohan recognises Wei Wuxian as his grandson when visiting Yunmeng. It’s funny and full of genius Wei Wuxian who gets spoilt by his new grandfather. Wei Wuxian is a complete ball of sunshine throughout and prevents the war purely because his grandfather knows it would upset him. I loved the whole series. @i-amnotawriter
Red Ribbon
by Bastet_Fanwork
M, Series, WIP, 127k, Wangxian
Summary: The Cultivation World was no stranger to gossip. From the minor clans to the major clans, there was an implicit belief that they were superior to ordinary people, even those who ran the country from the Imperial City; some cultivators could attain immortality and become gods; they could fly on swords, subdue living creatures with music, and survive for long periods without food through meditation. But they were still human. And it was human nature to prosper by meddling in other people’s affairs. This gossip in particular had the potential to spread and ignite like a broken lantern thrown into a pool of oil: the lucky ones had witnessed the highlights live, the others would complain for a long time that they had missed such a spectacle. And to think that it all started with a simple hair ribbon. ~ When Wei Ying is twelve years old, the Jiang Clan hold a Discussion Conference at Lotus Pier. All the clans attend, including the Wens. All goes well until Wen RuoHan notices the red ribbon in Wei Ying's hair.

Its author-wwx and actor-lwj which are two of my favorite tropes for fictional jobs! Combined! It’s a very amusing fic and I loved the family group chat and how committed to being helpful Jin Zixuan is in it. Plus wangxian get together really quickly in a way that’s funny but also satisfying. @wangxoxian
Good books don’t give up all their secrets at once (but Wei Wuxian does)

Summary: Bestselling author Wei Wuxian finds himself invited to the Golden Globes. It’s very exciting for everyone involved, including actor Lan Wangji (who may or may not be his biggest fan). Featuring: wwx’s family group chat, a one night stand with an actor that doesn’t end in a nondisclosure agreement, and lwj’s particular brand of flirting (inviting the man to move in with him)

anything by strat is amazing but this one about the fate of wei wuxian's parents, it's so good @notenoughgatorade
show me how to lay my sword down
by Stratisphyre

Summary: For a short while, probably more than he’d had any right to expect, Wei Wuxian had managed to feel like himself again. His clothing might have been rougher, and pockets certainly lighter, but sitting across from Lan Zhan sharing a meal without cross words or demands flying back and forth across the food… But a short time had all he’d been allowed before being abruptly summoned back to reality. Or, two strangers appear in the Burial Mounds.

This fic about Wei Wei Ying moving to Australia to begin his doctoral program while applying to adopt A-Yuan will fill a hole in your soul you didn’t know was there. The writing is evocative and lyrical as Wei Ying meets and falls in love with Lan Zhan, and they move forward through the adoption process together. It’s an absolutely gorgeous exploration of family in all its different forms. @doctorbunsenhoneydew
Bright Things and Quiet Places
by spicyomelette
T, 9k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: He’s a single man in a new country, trying to adopt a child. He doesn’t have time for crushes. But Lan Zhan is… Lan Zhan. Untouchable. Impossibly calm. Possibly carved from some secret mountain monastery stone. Wei Ying likes his voice. Likes his quiet. But he doesn’t let himself like it too much. Still, something shifts. Slowly. Like sunlight creeping through drawn curtains. Lan Zhan watches Wei Ying like someone documenting how he fits into the spaces he finds himself in, and Wei Ying starts to wonder what it means to stop surviving and start choosing.

All their stories are fantastic, but I particularly like how this story uses the amnesia trope and makes callbacks to canon. @zebydeb
rain that you slept through

Summary: “You’re in the hospital,” she says. “You were in a traffic accident, and–" “No, I heard that. But–” Wei Ying glances at the extremely pretty man, who’s just staring at him, completely still. His empty hands hover in the air. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I just wanna go home." “You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back." “Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks. The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room. - Wei Ying gets in a traffic accident and loses six years of his memories, including meeting and marrying the love of his life. This is the story of how he falls back in love with Lan Zhan: quickly, and inevitably. Or, my take on one of my favorite tropes.

💙 the cat distribution system
by ScarlettStorm (@scarlettohairdye)
E, 38k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Wei Wuxian didn’t imagine acquiring a cat like this, nor did he imagine acquiring a fluffy white cat that, even covered in dirt and debris and clutched to a four-year-old’s chest like a teddy bear, manages to give the impression it’s judged his entire life and found it deeply wanting. “Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?” “A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains. Or: Wei Wuxian gets a cat, and then a boyfriend, both of which are a surprise.
