So many of your fics fill me with love and admiration. "You Dance Dreams" probably changed my brain chemistry in some sort of way. But if I had to pinpoint actual favourites, I have to give it to "Never Bitter and All Delicious" which I reread frequently whenever I want to remember that there is hope in the world; and "Find Me a Find" got me into Vikings, and for this deserves a messy, crying shout-out.
Well, first of all, I am VERY sorry about the Vikings thing, what a flash-in-the-pan that was for Actual Enjoyable Episodes for me! But I'm very honored that you still enjoy my fic. And "Never Bitter"! I'd had the Fairy Godmother Bureau in my head for a long time, but since I figured I was never going to get a sitcom optioned, a fanfic would have to do!

Summary:
The problem with CT Wei was, lamentably, not incompetence. Incompetence was a failing no one at the Gusu Bureau of Cultivation could forgive. Had he been incompetent, he would have already been dismissed from his position. No, the problem with CT Wei was far worse: he was friendly.

There's a new forensic cultivator in the GBC.
Lan Wangji is unimpressed.
Hello, may I recommend “keep building on the ground” by Stratisphyre ? It’s so soft and wonderful
Of course, dear!
keep building on the ground by Stratisphyre
“I… suppose… you could stay,” he finally murmured. He scraped his teeth over his tongue, as though he’d tasted something nasty. It stuck in his cheeks, even. “This is not a kindness,” he growled at the baby. “This is pure, unadulterated self-interest! I’m going to raise you to lo—” He choked. “Lo— lov— fucking like the world enough not to destroy it.”
Having kidnapped the infant Antichrist, Crowley finds himself hunted by both sides eager for their war. Desperate, he turns to the only being on Earth who might be able to help him: a Fallen angel playing vintner in Provence.

fic rec! 16K Ineffable husbands.
Summary: Resigned to being unable to execute Aziraphale, Heaven decides to reeducate him instead. Crowley ain't having it.
Comments: Heaven essentially takes Aziraphale’s memories and Crowley does everything he can to try to bring them back. From knocking things over with his snake tail to encouraging delivery people carrying sushi to knock on the bookshelf door, he really tries his hardest the poor dear.

This is a collection of 7 works so far based on the premise that Wen Ruohan recognises Wei Wuxian as his grandson when visiting Yunmeng. It’s funny and full of genius Wei Wuxian who gets spoilt by his new grandfather. Wei Wuxian is a complete ball of sunshine throughout and prevents the war purely because his grandfather knows it would upset him. I loved the whole series. @i-amnotawriter
Red Ribbon
by Bastet_Fanwork
M, Series, WIP, 127k, Wangxian
Summary: The Cultivation World was no stranger to gossip. From the minor clans to the major clans, there was an implicit belief that they were superior to ordinary people, even those who ran the country from the Imperial City; some cultivators could attain immortality and become gods; they could fly on swords, subdue living creatures with music, and survive for long periods without food through meditation. But they were still human. And it was human nature to prosper by meddling in other people’s affairs. This gossip in particular had the potential to spread and ignite like a broken lantern thrown into a pool of oil: the lucky ones had witnessed the highlights live, the others would complain for a long time that they had missed such a spectacle. And to think that it all started with a simple hair ribbon. ~ When Wei Ying is twelve years old, the Jiang Clan hold a Discussion Conference at Lotus Pier. All the clans attend, including the Wens. All goes well until Wen RuoHan notices the red ribbon in Wei Ying's hair.

Its author-wwx and actor-lwj which are two of my favorite tropes for fictional jobs! Combined! It’s a very amusing fic and I loved the family group chat and how committed to being helpful Jin Zixuan is in it. Plus wangxian get together really quickly in a way that’s funny but also satisfying. @wangxoxian
Good books don’t give up all their secrets at once (but Wei Wuxian does)
by relenafanel (@relenafanel
T, 7k, Wangxian
Summary: Bestselling author Wei Wuxian finds himself invited to the Golden Globes. It’s very exciting for everyone involved, including actor Lan Wangji (who may or may not be his biggest fan). Featuring: wwx’s family group chat, a one night stand with an actor that doesn’t end in a nondisclosure agreement, and lwj’s particular brand of flirting (inviting the man to move in with him)

anything by strat is amazing but this one about the fate of wei wuxian's parents, it's so good @notenoughgatorade
show me how to lay my sword down
by Stratisphyre
T, 81k, Wangxian
Summary: For a short while, probably more than he’d had any right to expect, Wei Wuxian had managed to feel like himself again. His clothing might have been rougher, and pockets certainly lighter, but sitting across from Lan Zhan sharing a meal without cross words or demands flying back and forth across the food… But a short time had all he’d been allowed before being abruptly summoned back to reality. Or, two strangers appear in the Burial Mounds.

This fic about Wei Wei Ying moving to Australia to begin his doctoral program while applying to adopt A-Yuan will fill a hole in your soul you didn’t know was there. The writing is evocative and lyrical as Wei Ying meets and falls in love with Lan Zhan, and they move forward through the adoption process together. It’s an absolutely gorgeous exploration of family in all its different forms. @doctorbunsenhoneydew
Bright Things and Quiet Places
by spicyomelette
T, 9k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: He’s a single man in a new country, trying to adopt a child. He doesn’t have time for crushes. But Lan Zhan is… Lan Zhan. Untouchable. Impossibly calm. Possibly carved from some secret mountain monastery stone. Wei Ying likes his voice. Likes his quiet. But he doesn’t let himself like it too much. Still, something shifts. Slowly. Like sunlight creeping through drawn curtains. Lan Zhan watches Wei Ying like someone documenting how he fits into the spaces he finds himself in, and Wei Ying starts to wonder what it means to stop surviving and start choosing.

All their stories are fantastic, but I particularly like how this story uses the amnesia trope and makes callbacks to canon. @zebydeb
rain that you slept through
by anaphoricae
E, 54k, Wangxian
Summary: “You’re in the hospital,” she says. “You were in a traffic accident, and–" “No, I heard that. But–” Wei Ying glances at the extremely pretty man, who’s just staring at him, completely still. His empty hands hover in the air. “I don’t need anyone to take care of me. I just wanna go home." “You are going home,” Yanli reaches over and tucks his hair behind his ear, giving him a tiny smile. “Don’t worry. Just a few more scans, and then Lan Zhan can take you back." “Who’s Lan Zhan?” he asks. The pretty man by his side inhales so sharply Wei Ying feels the air get sucked out of the room. - Wei Ying gets in a traffic accident and loses six years of his memories, including meeting and marrying the love of his life. This is the story of how he falls back in love with Lan Zhan: quickly, and inevitably. Or, my take on one of my favorite tropes.

💙 the cat distribution system
by ScarlettStorm (@scarlettohairdye)
E, 38k, Wangxian | Kay's Rec
Summary: Wei Wuxian didn’t imagine acquiring a cat like this, nor did he imagine acquiring a fluffy white cat that, even covered in dirt and debris and clutched to a four-year-old’s chest like a teddy bear, manages to give the impression it’s judged his entire life and found it deeply wanting. “Uh, A’Yuan,” he asks slowly, just in case this is a hallucination. “Who’s this?” “A cat,” A’Yuan says proudly, leaning his round cheek against the top of the cat’s head, while the cat continues to look at Wei Wuxian like he’s wearing week-old clothes covered in food stains. Or: Wei Wuxian gets a cat, and then a boyfriend, both of which are a surprise.

Okay this story is delightful. Wei Wuxian never dies the first time around instead he creates a way for everyone to forget him so when it comes time for mo xuanyu to summon a demonic cultivator he calls for another one and it’s fascinating to see everything unfurl. Absolutely loved this! @browneyesandhair
you've heard that melody before
by Stratisphyre
M, 65k, Wangxian | Chengqing
Summary: “You—!” Jin Guangshan bit off whatever might come next, staring at him in confusion. “What are you doing here?” He looked nervously through the open doors towards the gathered dead. “Mo Xuanyu?” Jin Guangshan finally gasped out. “No. Your bastard son is dead. Decided to skip the queue.” He wondered how this sweet new face of his looked when twisted with a cruel smile. In face of the abuse he has suffered at the hands of his family, Mo Xuanyu sacrifices his soul to summon a demonic cultivator to take revenge in his name. ...no, not that one.
