Two Valentine pieces in one day??

Yup. You heard right. I made two pieces of art for Valentine's day. One traditional and one digital. I made these for a Valentine's Contest in a discord server and I figured I post them here since I haven't posted in a while.

I saw the skybound preview of oplita and I decided to draw it in the traditional style, using only pigma micron pens for the lineart and colored pencils for the colors.

As for this one...um, don't ask. I don't know how I managed to draw this one. But I decided to kill two birds in one stone. If you need context, Strongswipe is giving Oplita a bit of a pushing encouragement.

Also, TFA Elita....holy shit! I had to redraw her arm so many times, it ain't funny! I swear to god, I think I had a mini silent breakdown that wasn't exactly like a breakdown, but more of a 'how does robot arm work?!'

Thankfully, after about three redraws and different angles, I got one pose that looked decent enough. Then again, as an artist, I hate drawing hands in general. The struggle is real.

But besides that, the pieces are done and I hope they're okay. I tried the best I could.

Askin' time!

Lets say you're creating a fic or au or whatever. And you wanna put all your fave ships in it but you dont want those ships to, like, overlap or contradict each other.

So, like, what are all the ships you would include and why?

But in general if I'm writing a ship focused fic then I almost always focus on just one main ship. Any other ships are a bonus background thing! Or if I did want to focus on a different ship set within that fic's universe then I would write a separate fic within that series, like what I did for Across This New Divide series where the main fic Iridescent focused on the main ship of Jazzprowl but then any story that focused on any other ships such as Oplita or Sunnyblue I wrote as separate fics. Especially because those stories didn't impact the main plot and could be read as their own stand alone fic. So I appluad anyone who is able to focus on the development of more than one ship in a fic because I cannot lol!

There are so many Transformers ships that I love! So I do try to sneak in as many as I can! For example with my Jazzprowl Cinderella Au, I didn't have to include Redferno or Miragehound but I wanted to so I did! Even if it was just a quick mentions of them!

Whenever I make an Au or interact with someone elses, one of my favourite things to do is to try to fit as many characters/ships into that Au as possible! But sometimes I can't include all the ships I want to!

For example, I've been thinking about a Jazzprowl Pride and Prejudice Au with Jazz as Elizabeth Bennet and Prowl as Mr Darcy. I had initially thought about giving Smokescreen and Devcon the roles of Mr & Mrs Hurt, as well as making Bluestreak Mr Bingley so that he could fall for Sunstreaker who would take on the role of Jane. But ultimately I think Bluestreak is too perfect a fit for Dracy's younger sister! So I've decided to make Smokescreen Mr Bringley instead which I think suits his character more too! And whilst Smokescreen x Ricochet is not my favourite pairings involving those two characters, I think that storywise, Ricochet fits the role of Jane better as the slightly older sibling who is closest to Jazz. It's a shame to lose two ships I like but it is ultimately a Jazzprowl fic not a Sunnyblue or Devscreen fic!

In terms of ships overlapping or contradicting eachother, tbh that isn't an issue I've had to deal with much. Probably becasue i don't really have any ships that go against each other. I am very pro multi-shipping! However for me personally, during my time in fandom, I have realised that once I like a ship, I am pretty locked into that specific ship. It takes a lot for me to stop shipping it or start shipping one of the characters involved with someone else. So whilst there are other pairings with a character that I might like, I do tend to have like an OTP for them.

And there are a lot of Transformers ships that I like! Many that I've rarely even written about!

For example I am a massive KOBD shipper! They are like my original Transformers OTP! But I think I've only included them in like one fic lol!

Part of that is probably because I mostly write about the Autobots so it's a lot harder to try to sneak in a mention of any Decepticon ships compared to ships featuring other Autobot characters!

For example if I was writing a Jazzprowl fic that features a lot of the High Command then it would be easier to sneak in a mention of Oplita or Chromhide. Or if I featured the Praxians then it's easer to include ships like Sunnyblue or Devscreen! Other Autobot ships like Redferno, Miragehound or Strongswipe are fairly easy to include too! These are probably all the main ships that I would try to include atm!

But I also like to sneak in non-romantic relationships too! For example if I can include an offhand mention that the Praxians are all brothers or that Optimus is like Bumblebee's dad then I will!

Silly StrongSwipe idea that won't leave my head.

They tailing someone, idk who or why, maybe a suspect. But the oops now that person is coming towards them/might have spotted them so they gotta act fast.

And Sideswipe, in a moment of panic is just like 'you can hit me later for this but for now play along' and just. Kisses Strongarm. Just grabs her and kisses her. And she's just flailing in panic bc Sideswipe what the hell??

But she has to play along so whoever they're following doesn't realize they were following them. So she does.

And it works but they're both left very flustered by the whole thing and left with some very confusing and conflicting feelings about the situation.
