steve and bucky’s terms of endearment are borderline bullying

h o n e s t l y. men were Not Allowed To Feel Soft Emotions towards anybody but their girlfriend/wife and their mother back then, or at least weren't allowed to express them. affection towards other males had to be rough, tough, and possibly downright rude.

like, i'm not gonna actually look down on a writer for making these two verbally sappy, but i can't deny that it feels off. write what you want how you want! i just reserve the right to feel like it's ooc for them

That intense staring in the elevator scene tho. Was it that they finally found themselves unintentionally in a quiet moment, just staring at the other and really letting it sink in that they were there, in this sort of awe and wonder that despite all odds they were both here, reunited, ready to fight side-by-side again?
