Hi everyone! I made this post on Instagram (@studygirluruguay) that briefly explains how to have a better time management when self isolating
1. Make a schedule for each day of the week
Analyse which are your priorities for the day
Make sure you dedicate enough time to accomplish each one
2. Don't forget to leave time for relaxing
It's very important that you leave time for yourself, being all day productive ends up being unproductive
Try doing other things like reading a book, catching up on a serie, meditating or trying out a new recipe
3. Use the pomodoro technique
For long periods of working or studying it's good to do short terms of focus, with a short break in between those focus terms
The pomodoro technique is based on 25 minutes of focus and a 5 minutes break
When doing many terms, it's better that once in a while (for example every 3 terms of focus) you do a long break, usually of 15 minutes but that is up to your personal needs
4. Try to keep the same sleep cycle you had before this
Staying all night up will drastically affect your performance the next day, in a bad way
If you can, go to sleep and wake up at the same time as you did before
Maintaining a sleep schedule will prevent you from feeling like you are losing control, especially in times like this where everything is uncertain
5. Fragmentation of the day
When you have to work from home, keep up with online courses and do housekeeping
I recommend assessing each thing at a separate time of the day
For example, I have online classes in the morning. In the middle of the day I do the cleaning and make the food for the day. In the afternoon I work and do my homework and studies, and in the evening I relax.
I hope everyone can find something helpful in my post, and any recommendations are always welcome!
Don't forget to stay safe, and if you can, stay at home! It's the best chance we've got to stop the spreading of the virus.
