When you first meet someone and get to know them it's natural to ask questions especially when you're interested and want to display it.

Rule Number 1 — Avoid asking people what they do for a living.

It's important to know that asking people questions about their career, finances, or personal life can set you both up for an awkward exchange. Personal questions can be nosy and feel invasive. Nosy as in, not really our business. Invasive as in, prying and intruding on someone's privacy.

Asking what one does for a living —— What is the reaction when they say a cafeteria worker or ceo of multi-million business? People will usually adjust their perception and behavior towards them at least on a subconscious level. Manners help people avoid being rude, not be a snob.

If you have your plan right, An elite college could be one of the best head starts you have in moving around certain circles... just remember to smooze, socialize and keep your eye on the goal for social climbing... do not take your eyes off it for obvious reason.

For those who can't do elite university...

Make sure to go to college in a big city with an affluent population. (Granted you can meet wealth anywhere these days, but I like the higher probability of being located where the population is larger)
