I was searching for something completely unrelated in old messages with my friend, and I came across some pics of my ex. They’re from that period when he was still in the vetting phase. I had all his pictures deleted from everything, everywhere…but the devil had other plans, I guess—

I can’t lie, that man was fine.

I am over him and in a completely different chapter of my life, but I have to admit that man and that body still have me in a chokehold. It was the athlete I have briefly mentioned before. 😫 Pseudo-intellectual who could not keep up with me, but that body was insane. Just big, brawny, strong…peak masculine form.

I knew we were destined to fail when he mispronounced a philosopher’s name, and I kept replaying it in my mind for the rest of the night. I subtly corrected him by being like, “…yeah omg you read [correct pronunciation] too?!” And he was like, “haha, that’s so cool how we pronounced it differently but we both knew who we were talking about.”😬 It was not looking hopeful after that. It then turned into me having to define words at least once, whenever we went out.

i’m building rapport with one of the men at my job. he gives me solid advice and I usually walk away from every conversation with something new to research. he seems to be interested in my interests lol. I get the feeling that people don’t really ask about his personal interests often, so when I come along and spend hours talking to him, he enjoys that.

over time I’ve learned exactly who this man is, and I now understand that he is a heavyweight for sure. But that tidbit hasn’t really changed the way we interact tbh.

when we talk, I am mostly focused on the imaginary makeover I’m giving him in my mind while we are together.

Mergers? Liabilities? Sure, cool, but can we talk about these struggle tufts of hair that you refuse to let go?

Baby. You have made it in life. You have everything. You are set. You are that guy. I get it. You don’t have to care about your appearance anymore, but can we at least…do something about this hair? Let that shit go! release those 12 strands!

He is so unserious because his ass really trims those little tufts like that is actually doing something.
