Sugared Cranberry stood in a clearing, bow in hand. Targets had been placed around the clearing, each varying in size and location. She let loose arrow after arrow. Each one hitting its target dead on.
She’d improved quite a bit. When she first started, she had struggled to even draw the bow. Now however, she was able to hit a target as far back as the arrow could fly.
Would that be enough though? No, most certainly not. Cranberry had also started preparing runes for the fight. Runes to ensnare and runes to ground flyers, runes to silence any uttered spells.
The real trouble was how to lure First Magician to a place where she could draw out the runes ahead of time. Something to plan out later she supposed. The stationary targets were getting too easy; it’s not as though the magician would stand still and give her time to aim. Perhaps it might be worthwhile to figure out how to enchant the targets to move…
