AU on Magnus being a vigilante / hero?? Like spider man lol. I think that be interesting like how would he die, what's his 'orgin story' into becoming the hero he is, or how it would effect his relationships? I think it's a neat idea, especially if he still did 'heroing' while being a Einherjar 🤔
this actually reminded me of this fic which was unfortunately discontinued but its still a good read imo
his background is pretty similar, he's homeless following natalie's murder but its not glowing wolves but a gang that's framed him for it. maybe its revenge for something randolph did, maybe natalie had a job that they needed information from, maybe they felt like orphaning a child
he spends those two years trying to survive, he has blitz and hearth but he sees a lot of the bad shit that goes on and obviously isn't a fan. he steps in a few times but usually gets his arse kicked because he's malnourished with no training and hasn't slept well in like two years.
so he robs randolph and finds the sword there in a cabinet. takes it to defend himself and also it might piss off his uncle. accidentally renews it. it becomes jack etc etc.
jack tells him that he and whoever wields him are meant to help people no matter what and magnus who is canonically a fucking nerd hears this as "with great power there must also come great responsibility" and makes a joke about batman and jack who's been asleep for three thousand years does not get it
something something magnus starts saving people. his mask is literally a pulled up snood, goggles (following an Experience with pepper spray) and a hat which changes on average every two weeks because he keeps losing them. yes at one point he has a women fear me fish want me or whatever hat
mostly works with homeless people. doesn't leave them to the police unless they are going to hurt people. he mostly just helps them out. sometimes thats just giving them pickpocketing tips of how and who to take money from. randolph has conveniently had to replace like 20 wallets in the six months since magnus started being a vigilante
blitz and hearth help from the sideline with information and tlc when he gets injured which is minimum three times a week. they're there as backup too when he really needs it but they're not the most effective
he discovers that he's been absorbing power from jack/jack's been activating some latent powers of his when he gets shot really badly and heals. and then has to dig out the bullet later but the healing thing is cool. this later turns into his peace of frey (good for dealing with large groups of people) and his plant power which he Loves because its like poison ivy
randolph dies and he gets left the chase space which he turns into a homeless shelter but also his base of operations. the best part is the police can't get him because he has no scarring past a certain point of his injuries therefore it can't be him because he should show a gunshot wound at the very least
uses it to vent about his mother dying and also how much he hates his creepy uncle
samirah brings the food courtesy of amir who would come but is working
alex provides sarcasm
for the record, hearth and blitz are magnus’ gay dads, he doesn’t mention they’re gay because it’s so obvious to everyone that they are
hearth keeps passing out so he can leave the sessions quickly
jack is their hyperactive cat that used to belong to magnus’ dad and yowls along to pop music and flirts with anything that resembles another cat
mallory and halfborn are either too busy arguing or making out at the sessions to bother taking part properly for the first two campaigns
this is also why halfborn has no real character growth. he’s too busy staring at his gf, snogging her or fighting with her
they use the last campaign to bitch about their breakup (mostly on halfborn’s part and when magnus exiles them to the kitchen to do dishes, mallory catches her hair in the door frame and that’s what happened in york)

gunilla was only there to “babysit” samirah and then got involved and invested and died and just hangs around anyway
magnus rolled a 19 for a magic sword. the catch was it was super annoying
he has never regretted anything so much and named it jackshit after the cat
amir occasionally shows up for a session in which he managed to roll a twenty and get his mind healed from splitting apart
mallory uses the sessions to vent about her mom suddenly contacting her
alex and samirah are still half siblings in this au
samirah keeps trying to roll to get magnus and alex to date. it hasn’t quite worked yet but she’s not giving up

samirah, magnus and alex getting a song together
samirah and alex complaining about loki in it
the empty cups get a song for their trauma
instead of singing, hearth signs and keeps beat with a drum or claps and someone translates
