I’m in the limbo of just-before-moving-back-to-campus, staying at a friend’s house, and struggling to get back into a work headspace. I have two assignments due on the first day of class, which I’m aggressively trying to get done and struggling.

Last day of work before I take a month off to go ham on bar prep! Meaning I have to finish my procrastination backlog, rip. Working part time while studying has been so draining BUT I’m still ahead of some of my friends who have been doing bar prep full-time so I’m feeling alright.
Heading north to my parents for a bit so I can shake up the scenery - the days are starting to blend together and I practically haven’t stepped foot outside my door this summer. Wym it’s not still May?
Gonna take my outlines and practice test to the beach and let the sun revitalize me. Photosynthesize these rule statement. Maybe wander into the woods, study by a babbling creek or some sht.
I need to remember I’m a living thing and not a desk fixture :)

I did a bit of reading today. I am rereading braiding sweetgrass and annotating the book this time through. I haven't really done much today as I was helping my parents build a shed. I hope to get some more studying done as well as setting up this blog more.
What I did today:
I re- read a few chapters and started annotating this book.
I practiced some Finnish Vocab
I tidied up my desk
Day 3 of preparing for my Master’s degree!
I managed to squeeze in a bit of work while waiting for a friend at the train station! I finally sent off my studentship application and I started reading yet another paper for my sociology class. I’m a bit behind schedule but I am still on holiday so I’m trying to take it easy for now.
☼✻ Summer study guide ☼✻
☼ cold showers are the best to steam off the hotness and refresh your mind during long hours of study
☼ a cool environment to feel better. Try to build the cooler environment possible to study into, I don't have air conditioning at home so I just put a little fan on my desk and I always have a cup of iced water/drink with me
☼ study time is important. Try to study early in the morning as it is the quieter and cooler moment of the day, you will not feel as much fatigue because of the heat and there will not be kids screaming while they play football under your window
☼ don't lock urself in, it will only make it worse and it will cause a burn out. It's summer and you deserve to enjoy yourself and to go out even if you have to study, it's all about balance
☼ the hottest hours of the day are a gift. Since it's too hot to go outside anyway you can either:
-use them to take a good nap if you like to use night hours to study
-use them to study since you would be not going out anyway
building a good schedule based on your preferences will allow you to study, have fun and stay well rested.
✿Remember we're all in this together queen✿ please don't get lost in an endless tiktok/instagram scroll that will make you think you're the only one sweating her soul out at home trying to study for an exam while everybody else is tanning in Hawaii lol. Reality is pretty different from social media, we're all struggling for one reason or another, and there are a lot of other students sweating at home exactly like you. Keep your focus on your life, your goals and on being the best version of yourself that you can be at your own pace <3
Good luck for your exams!! 🍀🍀🍀
