Children of time AU does the Phantom family meet any of the other children of clockwork?

If the Children of Time met the Olympians, it would be interesting. They would have seen it differently from each side; the Phantom Team wouldn't care so much. From their perspective, it would be something like Slice of Life. From the Olympians' perspective it would be angst and outrage.

From the Phantom Family's perspective, they are honestly uninterested except for the fact that the Olympians are mythological figures. Because they don't see the gods as family, they see them as figures of myth and the children of a tiny fragment of Clockwork that he ripped off to set the timeline in a certain way.

Clockwork doesn't care about the Olympians; they are not his children, and he doesn't want them to be. They are the children of a tiny fragment of his power given purpose to set their timeline going in a certain direction. He doesn't care about them; they are not his. He doesn't care, and it shows, except maybe for how funny it might be for his children to mess with them. He is time—past, present, and future. He doesn't have to care about those little deities of some concepts.

Because if the Olympians were to somehow find out about the Children of Time, from their perspective, it would be like their father replacing them with stronger, superior versions of them. Worse, Kronos is a good father to his new children; he's caring and kind. He treats them like his treasures. What do they have that the Olympians don't, and what does the Crooked One act like as a father? It seems he's decided to create a new family and a new pantheon since he was dethroned and torn apart by the Greeks.

Danny sighs as the sound of a falling shelf reaches him, quickly followed by twin snarls. He takes a breath, even if he hasn’t needed to breathe since he was fourteen, and counts to ten as he pauses in making dinner. 

“Ellie, Dan, what’ve I said about throwing each other into the shelves-” 

He stops as he comes to the living room doorway, both of the gremlins freezing mid-stuffing an unconscious vigilante out the window, feathers puffed up. Dear Ancients he does not want to deal with this today, but it’s not like life ever cared about what he wants in any situation. 

“Elnath, Jordan, you better not be about to toss that person out the window-”

Prompt 214

“I did an oopsie.” 

Clockwork paused in his work, gaze turning from his work towards his ghostling (it didn’t matter if he was an adult, he’d always be his ghostling) who was smiling nervously, avoiding his eyes. 

“Oh?” He kept his tone light, even as he worked on untangling a time knot. Honestly at least Danny was immune to any effect of time, even if he couldn’t look into his timelines in exchange. It came with being the other half of Infinity. 

“Yeeah… you know that corner of the multiverse you told me not to go to because you’re working on some time problems? I might have stumbled into one of the worlds in the corner…” 

He stopped his machinations, fully turning towards Danny- Space, his Core whispered and quivered in utter delight at having an Equal in power- with a raised eyebrow, leaning on his staff and silently telling him to explain. 

Danny poked his fingers together, giving a nervous laugh. “So uh, I was just exploring right? Well me and Ellie, you know how she gets when she can’t wander, and um… I er, we might have messed with some things in the creation of it… I didn’t know it was part of that universe, I swear! It was so far at the fringes and halfway into the Zone and I couldn’t just let a universe die before it began and-”

Oh- Oh! His ghostling (and his grand-ghostlings it sounded like) had claimed his first universe! He could put off these time knots, this was a grand milestone for any Ancient, nevermind such a primordial force as one of theirs.

And this is how a DC world came into being with humans evolving with more avian traits. Like wings. And claws. Look, Dan thought it’d be funny if they gave baby humanity wings and Ellie started rambling about how much farther they could travel if they had them and Danny thought it could be cool. Oh well, time to keep an eye on their itty baby world now…

When they were all well enough that Clockwork no longer had to incubate them, he decided to place them in a safe universe where they could stabilize their concepts with the mortal faith. He chose to leave them in early ancient Greece, one where there were no Olympians although other creatures from Greek mythology such as naraids, tree nymphs, satyrs and other monsters and creatures did.

Clockwork took the name Kronos around the locals. He would make sure while the children were having fun that Greek society was developing in aspects that in the main chronology in terms of things like some traditions and that it would not be unrecognizable. But otherwise he would let the children have fun, knowing that they would take the place of the Olympian gods in the Greek religion of this dimension.

Kronos would take some nymphs into his service and inform them that they would serve his children. Leaving Danny and the others in the great temple on Mount Olympus.

Some will have more fun interpreting things from the original myths. Dani stealing Dan's cows, who dragged one to Danny when he caught it, Danny shaving his ass on stage. Dan kills this version of Python. Dani starts a group with some mortal girls with whom she travels and hunts. Jazz at Clockwork's request created horses with Sam's help. Some of the myths have no place at all although some are written by the mortal, others happen in a way and are or are not twisted a little by the mortals.

Jazz ends up settling in the ocean with some Nereids who have built a palace for their new queen. Dan and Dani end up settling on Delos although Dani is away most of the time. Sam is in the mountains and forests a lot. Danny, Tucker and Valeria are on Olympus or in the mortal world, sometimes visiting Jazz.

You know what is fun? Baby Ghost Jason. You know what could be even more fun? Ghosts are Dragons. 

Jason? Aware of none of this. 

He was on comms, y’know listening and rolling his eyes at Dickwing, who used his real name, really Dick, he mocks. It’s just a stakeout, nothing new there, honestly boring when he could be blowing something up instead. It should have just been a stakeout. 

Yet there’s something suddenly there, something behind him. Something that causes his hair to stand on end and his comms to spark into static like some sort of horror movie. Something, something with clawed hands with corpse-pale skin tipped in black, stained or dead or something else, tilting his head up and up and up as he’s frozen. 

“A child, out here? Alone?” a voice crackles, hisses, hums, and purrs, somehow all at once, unnatural in its tone. He can’t move, he needs to move, he has to move, but it’s like the space around him has gone cold and dead, like he’s stuck in the Pits once more as claws hold his head and his vision blurs. “Sleep, child. Rest- we’ll be home soon.”

Y'know what I think would be hilarious for a DP and PJO crossover? Percy & co finally getting to Kronos, straight up ready for anything after they pass through magic and portal of green and-

There's the smell of cookies. Freshly baked cookies, a warm oven, something about it reminding them of home in this strange place of floating gears and ticking clocks.

And there's a long, serpentine tail twisting through the gears, twisting up and down and across in a size that could hides yet reveals just how large this entity is. There's power soaking into every inch of this place, every centimeter nearly sending lightning up their legs with each step.

The ticking is getting stronger, a distant gonging of the hour echoing through a place that should feel cold and empty like the ringing of bells in the end of times.

And suddenly there's a kid- a teen like them, human yet not- with a cookie half in their mouth and hair flickering like the cosmos as they peer down from above them with a frown, eyes brighter than the sun yet darker than the moon.

"Oh great, what did my half-siblings do this Time?"

You know, going back in time, they thought it would be easy. Stop the end of the world by preventing the Being from well, coming into being. It should be easy to take them out, one death to prevent an untold amount of them. What could a child do?

Well. 

They really should have remembered that with a child usually comes their parent as well. And erm, said parent doesn’t seem to appreciate their logic. In fact, they are… getting their ass kicked. By a civilian. A feral civilian who apparently is very protective of said child-who-ends-up-destroying-the-world. 

They might need assistance…
