SYLVAN’S SILLY PERIL X SUNNY FANFIC…..Trailer? Preview? Idk I just wanna talk about it (more below)
I’ve attracted a bunch of fellow Peril x Sunny shippers as of late so it’s finally time to talk about the fic I have brewing in my head. Here’s the synopsis I’ve got written up!
Welcome back to Jade Mountain Academy!
After the tumultuous events of Jade Mountain Academy’s inaugural semester, headmasters Tsunami and Smolder are determined to make the coming year better than ever. Sunny, their assistant, has a bold idea for the first week of school: a school-wide Full Moon Festival showcasing the traditions of tribes across Pyrrhia and beyond. Preparation is going swimmingly…until the NightWings’ precious artifact goes missing. Sunny wants to assume it was simply misplaced. Starflight, Jade Mountain Academy’s resident librarian, suspects a saboteur—and he has evidence to fuel his fears.
Peril is, apparently, the only dragon that will listen to him.
Peril, in her own opinion, has never really been good. Okay, maybe she should give herself a little more credit, but after everything that happened last year…well, it’s a miracle she’s even allowed to set foot in the Academy. Her only saving grace is an enchanted ring from Turtle that grants her control over her firescales. When Starflight asks for her help, she sees an opportunity to prove herself not only to the Dragonets of Destiny, but to everyone at Jade Mountain. She can be safe. She can be good, be something more than Ex-Queen Scarlet’s Killer-Champion-Super-Monster of Fiery Death. And she can make sure Sunny’s big festival, no matter how hopeless the idea may seem, goes off without a hitch.
Discovering the saboteur is no easy feat. Suspects lurk around every corner, and they all have eyes on Peril and her deadly firescales. At the same time, she must keep her investigation secret from Sunny, whose spirit Starflight fears would be crushed by the mere idea of bad actors. It definitely does not help at all that Sunny has made a mission of befriending her, and as if things weren't bad enough, Peril isn't totally against the idea.
Will Peril be able to recover the artifact before school is in session? Or will her mistakes cost Pyrrhia’s trust in Jade Mountain Academy…and worse, her friends’ trust in her?

> This fic takes place in a post-canon AU where Peril is capable of controlling her firescales with an enchanted gift from Turtle. The gift was given to her after the end of Arc 2 and before Boa’s magic shennanigans in Arc 3.
> This is a self-indulgent Peril x Sunny fic, but it is also a lighthearted whodunnit mystery. I’d like to write more fics focused on Peril and Sunny’s relationship. This story is more about how it began.
> This fic is mostly from Peril’s POV, but I’m thinking of including prologues/epilogues from other POVs. There may also be Sunny POV interludes. Sunny is, after all, my favorite character, and I can’t resist writing her.
> I have five freaking Winglets to fill with dragons. Some of the slots I’ve given to canon side characters, but I like the idea of nabbing people’s OCs for a scene every now and then!
> Lastly, I’ve basically never written a fic like this before. Don’t expect it to be good. This is an excuse for me to play toys with imaginary dragons.

Never posted this for some reason. i’m pretty proud of it!! it’s not amazing but i do really like it… especially the way i did sunny’s scales and stars on her wings. And peril really looks like she’s burning up from the inside. thought i might as well share this somewhere :3

i don't have a solid design for either of them and honestlyyyy im not entirely happy with how it turned out,, peril looks like an icewing and sunny doesn't really scream "sunny" but whateverrr im just experimenting with appearances tbh and i think it turned out pretty well anyway
