Update: Power and Internet were restored literally minutes after taking this! Here's hoping they stay on!
Also, to explain further on the water: Drinking water comes in five gallon jugs for about ten cents per gallon, because the tap and well water here aren't safe. Houses here have their own water tanks that water tanker trucks fill up a couple of times a week for purposes of washing, flushing the toilet, etc. We, however, get water pumped directly into our tank from a well on the property, but since the pump is electric, we were trying to avoid draining the tank, so were collecting rain water for toilet-flushing purposes.
