henry and sammy used to be on better terms. they were pretty good friends! ......until sammy cast Friends. and uhhhhh its kinda a manipulative spell!! which when it wears off, the person it was cast on becomes hostile. it was NOT supposed to be a serious moment, but aha..... henry sorta maybe killed a few lost ones with an area spell he cast at sammy. which uhmm. did not help the situation. so things have been tense!! for a long time!!
heres a bullet pointed list of grievances aka a loose summary of the campaign. its very long so under the cut
to preface, the dm and i roll "control checks" a lot of the time to determine how much someone overreacts and uh. henry rolls chronically low. the dice do tell a story, and unfortunately its one where henry is mad a lot of the time
the first time sammy cast friends was so henry would give him the seeing eye tool thing so he could see what henry was writing. it wasnt worth it, henry wrote like "never alone" or something boring like that. a fight broke out after the spell wore off (susie stepped in on sammys side), people were knocked out, low control check led to lost ones being killed (and subsequently revived when sammy woke up. very VERY cool scene that im still obsessed with)
the second time was when they got out of the studio the second time, and sammy cast friends so henry wouldnt follow him back into the studio because he needed to coughkillcough joey to give his soul to bendy to make him a perfect toon AND to give jacks soul back to jack. it worked, sammy went in, saved jack, fixed bendy, and came back out to a very upset henry.
uhhhhhh sammy and jack were still inkfected when they left the studio so they were detoxing at henrys house for a bit and sammy (as Prophet) locked jack in the closet (which plays into jacks fear of being alone since yk he drowned alone in the sewers) for the coup from back in the studio (LONG story) and oops he got in trouble for that and henry locked him out of jacks room :( he was very sad and everyone was mad at henry for separating them so after a family meeting (minus the inkfected) henry begrudgingly let sammy back in but only if he got tied to the bed rip
and ahaha jack kinda untied sammy and they ran away for like two weeks. it was fun, henry's still upset about it
on that same note when wally and susie found them they went back to jacks apartment cause going back to henrys would be a bad idea since hes upset. and uhm. long sequence of events ended up with a very out of it sammy casting the ink spell.....on all of jacks blood. they um. needed to get a high level cleric to save him cause he nearly died. so uhm. henrys really mad at him about that (even if sammy was literally not in the right mind at the time, since he was in the throws of detox)
sammy actually kind of agrees with henry and doesnt think he should be forgiven for what he did to jack. but literally 24 hours after sammy got better from the detox, jack proposed. and he said yes. SO NOW HENRYS MAD AT JACK FOR PROPOSING WHEN HE SEES WHAT SAMMY DID AS UNFORGIVABLE.
and SINCE henry sees sammy as his son hes even MORE mad and it feels like some sort of "personal betrayal" when its literally none of henry's business.
obviously sammys mad at henry for being mad at jack because back off dude so he tries to go and talk to him and. uh. a conversation escalates to an argument and due to a low control check henry throws the first spell. linda, susie, and bendy get involved in the fight (the latter two on sammy and jack's side). susie and jack manage to knock out/cast Sleep on henry and linda respectively so that nobody (aka sammy) gets killed because YIKES he still has the lowest hp of the bunch and henry is VERY powerful.
linda wakes up first and shes like wtf guys and sammys like SORRY but in our defense your husband attacked first and etc etc they go downstairs while linda stays in the bedroom to try and calm henry down when he wakes up in a few hours. a few hours pass. henry wake up and is PISSED. he goes downstairs to yell at sammy some more and sammy rolls low on a control check and uh. kinda maybe draws his own blood to turn into ink and force henry to drink it so he learns what it feels like to be out of control.
obviously this goes. badly. the gang (minus the steins) fucking dips out soon after and go to jacks apartment to wait a very scary 12 hours until henry has finished the detox since it was only one sip. but uhhhh henry escapes from his house and goes to sammy and may or may not hold jack at knifepoint so sammy is forced to cast the ink spell on some blood again to give to henry. also bendy is here and hes drunk (long story). so henry takes another sip BUT sammy manages to stall him in the apartment long enough for linda to come and tie him down again lol. which is progress. but aha in the process of tying him down henry stabs sammy oops
etc etc they wait for the ink to wear off and sammys really freaking out cause he knows henry is going to be PISSED so he tells jack to take a drive so hes not at the apartment while the fight goes on, yk, to protect him. well SOMEONE rolled low on luck and jack got into a car accident and hadn't yet added sammy as an emergency contact so GUESS WHO DIDNT FIND OUT UNTIL MULTIPLE HOURS LATER. by which i mean henry woke up cast Inflect Wounds on sammy which knocked him out for a few hours and NEARLY actually killed him. it was like 4(?) damage from full on death.
so thats how the hospital arc started uhhhhh. jack is fine now he just needed some surgery. some heart surgery too because cough turning his ink into blood kinda messed up his heart who wouldve guessed cough. sammy was originally just a visitor but his stab wound started bleeding through the bandages on like the fourth day there and he got admitted lmaooo. wally roasted him for it. anyways at one point sammy went to get stuff from jacks apartment and took a quick detour to henrys house to have a breakdown in front of him because jack kept on rolling low on medical luck. henry, finally having a heart, felt bad and they sort of reconciled which was very sweet and cute because god henry its been two weeks since you stabbed him you didnt even check up on him or jack.
etc etc sammys liver failed because i rolled REALLY low on medical luck so he had to get a transplant. from SUSIE. the dm rolled for compatibility and honestly she was the funniest outcome. i think she got a nat 20 on it. she has complaining rights i love her.
something very funny that we decided on is that when sammy is loopy from anesthetic/strong painkillers he is simply Prophet. why? rule of funny next question. which meant for the two ish weeks after his surgery it was literally JUST Prophet. the nurses thought he was weird. so did jacks parents (MY BAD).
so henry visited Prophet every day because hes really good at "Prophet handling" and it was for the best. except. when prophet woke up after the transplant, henry had what started as a very nice conversation with him. until henry admitted that he liked Prophet more than Sammy, and told him to not tell anyone. nothing happened then, because he was talking to prophet. but after henry left prophet immediately "called" (rolled religion to contact him) bendy and told him. and bendy was like 😬 well happy for you but yikes. prophet gave him the memory of the conversations he had with henry in order to give to sammy whenever he came back because prophet felt as though he had the right to know. later that day he told jack. and even later he told Kate (the magic specialist on his case). so UH. everyone knows that now. except wally and susie ig but they'll find out soon enough.
the next day it was finally sammy time again cause he was taken off painkillers and jack immediately told him what prophet said and sammy called bendy to tell him he was back and bendy gave him prophet's memories and OH NO sammy took the motive behind sending them the wrong way. he took it as prophet wanting him to know as a way to rub it in (when thats not why prophet shared them). and on top of that he just feels betrayed by henry because UGH he just started trusting him again and now he finds out that the only reason henry even cares about him is because henry cares about prophet and sammys just a side effect????? screaming and crying. he kept on pretending to like henry so henry wouldnt catch on that he knows. AND sammy asked kate later to compare how often henry came in when he was Prophet vs now that hes Sammy and turns out he comes to visit way less often im going to sob
I honestly don't remember if I posted about it here, but one of our cats recently needed emergency surgery. It went well and he's recovering really good but it was really expensive (5k USD).
So I decided to try offering writing commissions to see if that is something I can do to help recoup some of that money.

heyyy! so some people know already, but i just wanted to say again that i will be out of commission for at least 2 or 3 days due to getting my teeth pulled tomorrow (or today, whenever you see this, either way that's sept. 1st). i'll keep asks open, but you may not see me answer them for a bit of time. also, my queue is still up and running with the usual 1 board or day, 2 boards another day, tho this is just my anxiety thinking i'll be not feeling good for longer than a day or two

honestly i feel like emphasizing that trans people desperately need gender-affirming medical care is true and an immediately practical point to make, but it's not broad or ambitious enough wrt the goal of ending medical gatekeeping for the medications and procedures that are generally associated with transgenderism.
bc like the goal should be for these things to be freely available to anyone who wants them, with informed consent. anyone. not just anyone with dysphoria. not just any trans person. anyone
like you know how there are butch lesbians, including cis ones, who take T? im talking about normalizing not only that but anything like it.
like for example: if you're a cis guy but you think it would be fun or cool to have boobs, and you do research on the effects of E, consider what it would mean for you, and decide you'll take it for the breast growth and then discontinue it. (the same strategy could be used for body hair and for changes of the voice and clitoris on T).
or you're a cis woman, and you enjoy using a strap-on. it feels right to you and you buy a packer, maybe even one that conveniently lets you stand to pee. you wish they were really part of your body, so you decide to pursue bottom surgery
like under our current modern framework, we would probably assume both of those people are trans, either they're nonbinary or they are in denial, or whatever. the doctors will want them to Come to Terms with their Real Internal Gender before treating them, but they should get the care they want anyway! if they turn out to be cis they still got medical care that they wanted?? & Also that way nobody has to lie to their doctors, like. Nowadays a lot of nb, lgb, and gnc trans people have to act like the most stereotypical Straight Dysphoric Transgender they can, to access care.
And additionally if we just removed all of the hoops, people wouldn't be forced to out themselves to their doctors or to anyone! Like if it was normal for anyone with breasts to have the option to get them removed without having a specific reason, I wouldn't have to out myself as trans in order to take medical leave for top surgery, or in order to get top surgery. So in addition to helping cis women who want flat chests, it would help trans people who like privacy or who need to exist in transphobic environments, more options
anyway my point in the end is that gender is a social construct, so is sex, and therefore things that are currently considered to be gender-affirming medical care should eventually cease to be associated with gender at all, in the same way that presentation, names, and pronouns should be
