Avocado (I thought) Board update 🥑 ... so here ya go @rachaeltilly. @grepoxy and I had a chitchat last week about your boards. we decided to throw some greens into your diet. I thought we’d call this the avocado board but I’ve changed my mind. I decided the Basalt cloth looked so rad that you needed TWO layers of it on the bottom (more is better in my book). well it’s basically black “looking” with a sand finish. The deck really looks more yellow (kinda mustardy like the hotdog board). I put some carbon in it in secret places because the @usblanks 1.5# eps middle doesn’t have a stringer 〰️. I glued it all together with Greenroom’s BioCarbonEpoxy that the #USDA (government cow people 🐄) and @sustainsurf say makes a surfboard eco certified because 19% of the glue is bio-based renewable content. I went down to the garden and turned my compost a few times while the epoxy cured also so I think that counts towards the econess too 🤔. I had to get out of my shaping (laminating) room now and then because it was so hot in there. I make it hot so the boards nice and cured out correctly. Anyway I hope you get some rad waves on it and laugh at the color! Introducing the Velveeta Rat Rod Board 🙌 @brian_bent will probably take it if you don’t want it 🙋♂️ • • • • • • • • • • • • • #surfing #beachlife #oceanlife #surfer #basalt #handcrafted #ecoboard #madeincalifornia #surfrelik #workshop #sustainsurf #collaborativeart #sportofkings #makermade #legacy #surfboardshaping #lifestyle #makersmovement #skil100 #handshaped #capistranobeach #beachlife #worldchampion #singlefin #california #biocarbonepoxy (at Capistrano Beach, California)
