If you want to do another prompt from the "I love you" list, how about 15 for any ship of your choice?
@sylibane I hope you like klavpollo
The song Klavier sings is Truly by Lionel Richie, because as I was thinking, “what song should Klavier sing,” that came on, and I’m not one to question fate.
15. Loud, so everyone can hear
“Thank you for coming out here tonight,” Klavier said into the microphone as he gazed out into the (mostly) female audience, “Khura’in has never been so rocking!”
The audience went wild, and he heard a few shouts of “Marry me Klavier,” but his eyes darted to the backstage area where Apollo was waiting. His body language said ‘annoyed,’ but the smile on his face said he was enjoying himself.
He should be. After all, the benefit concert was his idea. Not that Klavier hadn’t been planning out a comeback tour that just so happened to pass through Khura’in after he failed to convince Edgeworth to send him as part of a prosecutor-exchange program that he also made up as an excuse to visit Apollo.
But now he didn’t have to, since Apollo invited him.
Which is why he felt, not a hundred percent sure, but reasonably confident about this.
He strummed a few notes on his guitar, causing the crowd to go wild again before he said, “This next one goes out to all the defense attorneys in Khura’in.”
Apollo frowned, clearly suspicious, as the crowd cheered even louder. They settled down once Klavier started playing, the opening slow and sweet, as all love songs should be.
“Tell me only this,” he began, “That I’ll have your heart for always. And you want me by your side, whispering the words,” he looked backstage at Apollo as he sang, “‘I’ll always love you.’”
Apollo’s face went redder than his favorite suit, but he made no move to stop him, his gaze fixed on Klavier as he continued the song.
The crowd was eating it up, but he only had eyes for Apollo, who grew even redder if that was possible. Apollo’s eyes never left him, and if it weren’t for the tv cameras and the cheering crowd, he could pretend it was just the two of them.
When he came to the final verse, he made sure to put his whole heart and soul into it.
“Because I’m truly, truly in love with you. I’m head over heel in love with your love. I need you, and with your love I’m free. And truly, you know you’re alright,” he let his guitar trail off, his whole body turned towards Apollo, so there was not doubting who this was all for, “With me.”
The crowd went wild, cheering harder than they had all night. Klavier watched Apollo carefully, waiting for his reaction.
As soon as the song was over, Apollo marched out on stage and grabbed Klavier by his lapels. For a fraction of a second he thought he was going to get punched, but instead Apollo yanked him forward into a searing, possessive kiss.
The crowd went ballistic, the noise of it shaking the stage. Before Klavier had a mind to kiss him back, Apollo was pulling away and wiping his lips with the back of his hand.
“Never,” he said, soft enough not to be picked up by the microphone, “Do that again.”
He kissed him once more, quickly, before pulling away and stomping backstage again. Klavier didn’t mind, he was too giddy and drowning in the roar of the crowd and Apollo’s everything to care.
After all, he’d spoken his heart, and everyone had heard.
No matter how far apart they were, Apollo was his.
