#traumaticbraininjury (TBI) is associated with an increased risk of late #neurodegenerative complications via unknown mechanisms. Circulating neurotoxic 5-hydroxytryptamine 2A receptor (5-HT2AR) autoantibodies were reported to increase in subsets of obese #type2 diabetes having microvascular complications. We tested whether 5-HT2AR autoantibodies increase in adults following #traumaticbraininjury in association with neurodegenerative complications.

A study was carried out to assess the effectiveness of a nutrition education intervention among women residing in the villages of Dodoma and Morogoro regions of Tanzania. Prior to the intervention, a baseline survey was conducted in July-August 2016. The survey involved 663 women who completed a pre-test assessment for nutrition knowledge and practice and enrolled in nutrition education intervention.

insulin is an effective #hyperglycemia agent, however hyperinsulinemia, as result of prolonged administration, has been shown to lead to #cardiovasculardisease (CVD) in DM. As a result, research into alternative therapies for the management of #diabetes is needed. In our laboratory, a novel vanadium complex has been synthesized and has been shown to improve #glycemic control and #liverfunction.

The #human immune system possesses powerful surveillance functions to find and eliminate #tumor cells. Several steps are involved, such as uptake and presentation of tumor antigens by dendritic cells (#DC s) in order to activate T cells, #trafficking and #infiltration of the tumor with T cells and, finally, recognition and killing of tumor cells. Tumor cells release a number of soluble mediators that may disrupt these steps, thereby creating tolerance or immune escape. We previously published data on a #RAT animal model showing 1, 2-dimethylhydrazine (#DMH) to inhibit DCs activation and enhance T #regulatory cells (Treg) expression, ultimately inducing colon carcinogenesis.

𝐀𝐢𝐦𝐬 : The study aimed to assess the effectiveness of the Flash Glucose Monitor (#FGM) in empowering #patients with Type1 Diabetes Mellitus (T1DM) to #fast safely during the month of #Ramadan.

𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐬: In this prospective interventional study, eligible adult patients with T1DM were monitored with FGM and completed a survey after #Ramzan. Time in range, #Glucose variability, changes in #HbA1c, and #renal function was evaluated.
