Thing Tuvok sees during an away mission and never tells anyone about
@reject-tiefling's beautiful art and this post combined made me draw this comic. You cannot tell the new parents running on -10 hours of sleep that you find their humanoid kitten babies disconcerting. That's like rule number one of being a Captain. [Become a Patron | Commissions]
Happy Mother's day to T'Pel who canonically spent 96 hours in labor during the birth of her third child and STILL went on to have a fourth. I think she deserves a purple heart for all that.
I've had this fic idea for like a few years now and have never committed to actually writing it bc it's mainly one big joke where T'Pel and the children are visiting a Starfleet ship for the first time after Tuvok quits his job as a professor.
Sek is very against Tuvok working for Starfleet and quitting his job as a professor because he doesn't like Starfleet but also bc he doesn't want his father to get hurt or killed. Elieth thinks their father being a Starfleet officer is so much cooler than a professor so they're both hypothesizing about different things he might be doing on the ship but Sek is disconcerted by them while Elieth is enamored. Varith is too young to care about anything. T'Pel tells them both that Tuvok's job is likely far more mundane than either imagines and that regardless of what he's doing she's sure he's performing his duty admirably, with the same proficiency and dignity that made him a respected professor in their hometown. Suddenly they hear screaming. "It transported up! Stop it! It got out! Catch it! Catch it!" and before they can react a gigantic frog-like alien thing is standing in front of them, blocking the corridor. T'Pel draws the children closer as a security officer steps in front of them and aims their phaser at the frog, informing the others of its whereabouts. Seconds later a science ensign leaps onto the beast's back and tries to inject it with a hypo spray but they're thrown off. This happens several times with many different science, medical, and security officers until finally like five of them pin the frog down and are able to inject it, inducing it to vomit up Tuvok who slowly slides face-first down the corridor until his head hits T'Pel's shoe. His body is limp. Varith, a toddler, perks up at this sight and points. "Sasa!" Yaaay <3 Father is here <3 Do you guys not see him~?? <3

In my newest fic I mention Um'ronahr (Um'ronahr-huk) and Svi'vel (Stukht'svi-vel) which are Vulcan schools of logic I made up for Tuvok & T'Pel. (The fic is not about Vulcan schools of logic, it's about trauma & you should heed the warnings if you read, but this is the first time I've given these differing schools names, so I wanted to share some broad concepts for how these schools differ in their approach to life and logic.)
I'd like to explore Vulcan schools of logic more in a fic more dedicated to that topic! *I forgot to mention but the school of Stukht'svi-vel does not venerate items made by religious leaders. T'Pel and Tuvok did get into an argument about him buying that meditation lamp for more than it was realistically worth just bc it was crafted by a master.
The way I see the Tuvok/T'Pel/Janeway dynamic in my mind is that Tuvok and Janeway are constantly and unconsciously trying to be a gentleman to T'Pel and it leads to them both looking a bit silly at times. Tuvok just gives off gentlemanly vibes already (like, can't you just see him holding out his hand to help T'Pel over a curb?) and Janeway strikes me as like...if she were in a manga she'd fill that "Prince of an all-girl's school" role. Like, I get the distinct impression that Janeway finds women cute much more frequently than she finds men attractive. That's normal for her and doesn't necessarily mean she has a crush on these women but she does have a little crush on T'Pel and everyone can tell before she does. She still doesn't know. She might die not knowing.
Their first meeting almost made Janeway start hating Tuvok all over again. Damn him. Damn him to hell.
