Soulmate au idea

Ok I don’t even know if anyone has ever come up with this idea and frankly I’m not sure so please tell me if this is original or not but-

Soulmate au where: When you first make eye contact with your soulmate both of your eye colors change into your ship theme color ex: Creek (SP)=Golden/Dark Blue eyes, Bendy (SP)=Pink/Red eyes!

BUT

When your soulmate dies or is dying both of your eyes turn gray to dead black!
