TARDIS Library on Dreamwidth has a new seasonal challenge up - this time it's Alphabet Soup! (Rec at least 5 fanworks for 5 consecutive letters of the alphabet - see the challenge post for details.)
Ian got locked in the TARDIS library for about a week? Month? Day? Hour? Year? Time had passed oddly so they couldn't be sure... while they were stuck there they read some books, found the lgbtqia+ section, read everything there, had multiple gender crises, questioned everything, got rescued from the library, discovered they had been stuck in a time loop, and is still trying to figure out how to say that they don't quite fit with their assigned gender

She makes him feel safe and her lap was so comfy, he just... happened to fall asleep during the movie.
Please see the notes for my links, I always double post my art because Tumblr is excluding all links from tag searches. You should find my post tagged ‘licie links’ right under my original post in the notes. I know it’s annoying, but this extra step helps me out a lot.
The Doctor's Library
Most people who have written with me know that one of the Doctor's favorite places in the TARDIS is always (no matter the regeneration) the library.
So I thought I'd share a couple of pictures and thoughts I've had about their favorite of rooms.
The Library is the largest room in the TARDIS, and for good reason. The Doctor has collected books from all over the universe, all throughout Time. This is like the Library of Alexandria on steroids, okay? Any scholar would give their left arm for ten minutes in this room.
The shelves are largely made of what seems to be dark hardwood, and the stacks are close together, with narrow aisles and the occasional archway. There are two levels, and an ornate railing around the top decorated in circular Gallifreyan.
There is definitely an organizational system, but you'll never figure it out. The Doctor can always find what they're looking for, though. (But that might just be the TARDIS helping out)
But. Here's my favorite part of the library:
The Reading Nook
There are a number of these throughout the Library, and if you can't find the Doctor, this is the #1 most likely place to find them other than the console room.
The nooks are equipped with plush chairs and sofas, and usually a roaring fireplace at all times. The Doctor rarely sleeps in their bedroom, but occasionally might be caught dozing here. It's cramped and cozy and smells like old books and fresh ink and pine and it's just the best thing.
So. Welcome to the Doctor's Library. Try not to get lost.

And people wonder why I have such an affinity for libraries...
Life Hack:
ambient-mixer.com.
Do it. It has a list of different sounds that makes your day so much more relaxing. You can study easier, fall aslep quicker, meditate, etc. It has like rainfall or flowing creeks and such. It has sounds that make you actually feel like you’re in the car with the Winchesters, or in the Shire with Bilbo, or the Hogwart’s Library, etc.
Sounds that make you cry because you’re not a fictional character who can actually experience these things.
Do it. Seriously, I’m doing you guys a favor. It feels like a warm hug.
P.S.: If you listen to the right noises while reading fanfiction [ie-Read SPN fanfic while listening to paper rustling and car motors running], everything will be okay. That’s a promise.
(Not sponsored by ambient-mixer btw. Just thought I’d share this magical thing. It truly is a blessing, even to non-religious/anti-religious people.)
