Ashur's whole Deal in Veilguard is extremely ripe for the sorts of identity shenanigans I love very dearly. I think Tarquin shouldn't know who he is so he can get to have a whole crisis because he's got a crush on both his day job boss (the Pope) AND his extracurricular job masked revolutionary leader (basically Batman)

Throw in a bit of religious imagery and devotion, and we are COOKING

Read this delightful fic where Tarquin gets nugafied. Nugged? Idek but apparently he’s still taking care of Ashur. That man would be lost without him.

Was stressing for Divine fashion ideas, so I modeled it after @fadesense ‘s art here for Ash. 100% must see.

Thinking about a humorous situation involving Ashur visiting Tarquin’s work on occasion as the Black Divine, under the guise of checking in on the Order and being a man of the people, and he’ll personally say hello to Tarquin because he knows it makes him look good to deign to visit the ‘parchment pushers’, but also because he can be warm and lowkey flirty and Tarquin isn’t allowed to react as he normally would, Ashur knows it drives the man crazy and he’s mischievous about it.

Problem is, Tarquin’s coworkers aren’t all bad, and the ones he’s on good terms with now think he’s being sexually harassed by the Black Divine and that he remains polite out of fear, and they’re not gonna let that stand

I don't remember the other games that well--I tend to zone out sometimes when playing video games--but I don't think there was this level of gay yearning in any other dragon age, was there? I liked the others and this one is also good but I have never had this level of brainworms about a DA.

Gay yearning is catnip. I need more Tarquin x Ashur gazing hornily across the room at each other and flirting aggressively while everyone else awkwardly pretends not to see it.

Tarquin/Ashur: Wow we're so subtle. No one suspects.

Another piece done for @transthedasfest 2026! It was part of a mini series I started for the prompt ‘A View of Life Outside of the Shadow Dragons’

It sparked a fun server discussion of transitioning in Thedas and what HRT looks like. Ashur is learning the magical side of things so Merrill can go off adventuring. The boys were bickering, so she told Tarquin to shut up and ‘eat your banana’. 👀

I planned more for the background and details, alas, I’m burned out.
