#TastingTuesday This weekend, since it was so wicked cold out, we decided to make homemade Pho! All the way, legit-ish... PHO 🍲 (Ok we used the instant pot so this is what makes it legit-ish 😂🤣😂🤣) Pho is a Vietnamese bone broth soup that is traditionally slow cooked (24 hours or more) with brisket, bones, onion, ginger, toasted spices such as anise, clove, cinnamon, and other traditional things like jaw grass, etc... once the broth is finished, you strain it until all you have left is this gloriously clear and rich brown broth. This piping hot 🥵 broth is ladled over par cooked rice noodles with your choice of thinly sliced beef, Thai basil, bean sprouts, perhaps some mint and that’s where it traditionally ends... but for us we added thinly sliced carrots, celery, snow peas, purple cabbage, mushrooms, broccoli bell peppers and cilantro! The crazy hot broth cooks the veggies to perfection and you can garnish with hoisin sauce, sriracha and a few wedges of lime! 😅🤤🤤🤤 It was pretty dang good, considering we did’nt let the broth simmer for 24 hours! It was healthy and filling and the perfect thing for a cold springs day! 🥢🍲🥢🍜🥢🍲🥢 It truly wasn’t that hard and just a little time consuming cutting up all the yummy veggies, but I loved it! Pho-real though, I think next time we will crock pot that broth to suck all the marrow and flavor out of those bones, but for a quicker version, this was a win! ❓🤔❓🤔❓🤔❓ So...what’s the most complicated dish you’ve ever made? . . . . . . #kellebjammin #kelleb #kellebcookin #pho #homemadepho #vietnamesefood #nomnom #whatiate #goodeats #asianfood #foodporn #homecooking #beefnoodlesoup #beefbroth #bonebroth #instantpot #phoreal #eatyourveggies #beefsoup #ricenoodles (at Lubbock, Texas) https://www.instagram.com/p/BupXchNgjQT/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=vk3ldxm80toy
