When Patrick finds out how much David adores ice skating, he takes it upon himself to sign them up for a couples' skate thinking it will be the perfect wintery date. Unfortunately, he forgot one minor detail: he doesn't exactly know how to skate and spends a great deal of their time falling on the ice rather than skating on it.

Luckily for Patrick, David is more than prepared to kiss it all better.

Cloudy with a Chance of Reindeer

In order to raise money for the Winter Festival and Ronnie Lee's Rec Centre, Schitt's Creek's Town Council offers plastic reindeer for sale to local businesses and individuals to decorate and enter into a contest judged by the town's residents. David is adamantly opposed to participating in such an incorrect contest, but Patrick and everyone around him get involved and show off their artistic sides.

Patrick blinks beneath the toque shoved onto his head, steadily dripping melting snow from his coat onto the mat they once purchased together. “Um… it’s my weekend."

What? David is already shaking his head, but Patrick takes a step forward, eyes wide, skin pale despite his cold-flushed cheeks.

“I get Christmas. You get New Years. I thought..." Patrick trails off and licks his lips. Behind him, snow blows in through the still-open doorway. "I thought that's what we agreed."

Rec [written by doingthemost]: I love fics that look at the friendships behind the scenes, and this is no exception. I'm glad to see Ted and Patrick fleshed out more here. It makes perfect sense that Patrick could provide stability and support to Ted in Season 6.

Rec [written by samwhambam]: This one made me LOL and cringe with extreme second hand embarrassment. I could just feel David’s humiliation and like, Johnny never makes situations like this better. It really feels like them. It’s a fun, quick read that will definitely have you laughing.

Summary: Stevie is still figuring out David’s new business partner but she’s learned a few things: how much he loves baseball, that Ronnie is going to be his enemy for life, and what his preferences are. The only question is whether some other guy is going to catch Patrick’s eye before David does.

Rec [written by samwhambam]: i LOVE a good friendship fic, and will gobble up everything and anything that has Stevie and Patrick becoming besties. I loved this little look into them becoming friends. Stevie is observant and the perfect BFF to David, and teases Patrick just enough, even though they don’t know each other well yet. I loved it and highly recommend.

“Alexis!” comes the sunny voice she would know anywhere by now, followed by a warm hand circling her wrist.

She turns to see Twyla, still looking sleepy, with traces of yesterday's makeup on her face. “Twyla,” Alexis swallows, nervous. “Hi.”

Twyla scrunches her nose, never losing her rosy smile. “Is… everything okay?”

“Yeah! Yes!” Alexis sucks in a breath. “I… last night was real. Right?”

David begrudgingly accepts that if there’s no option for pharmaceutical intervention, maybe this stupid Calm app is his best next choice. Ted never needs to know that David took his suggestion. He skips over the guided meditation options; he tried meditation in New York and found it impossible to not engage with every thought that crossed his mind. The sleep stories, though, sound not promising, exactly, but reasonable enough.

David suffers from insomnia after moving to Schitt's Creek and turns to the sleep stories on Calm to help him fall asleep. Brewer's Baseball History is the only thing that helps, but what happens when the voice behind those stories shows up in town?
