Whats this? Something brand new from MGMT!

The interestingly named Cool Song No. 2 could have fooled us. It seems they have found a brand new sound at an octave or two lower than we're used to. That's not to say we dislike the song, it's got a great original vibe that we love!

Jungle beats and distortion claim some resemblance to later Gorillaz stuff, however there is still that unique essence that MGMT input to all their endeavors.

The one thing puzzling those who have heard this already is.... what does it all mean!?

The video seems to depict surreal imagery some sort of drug operation being ambushed by a murderous man looking to same a tree man... yeah I know.

It's a controversial move for the band, it's sparked quite a debate on YouTube... Let us know what you think.

Song Of The Week

This weeks song is a classic from the sadly passed Nick Drake. This version of Cocaine Blues comes from a compilations of his home recordings called Family Tree. This version has a pure original blues tone with some beautiful guitar playing. Also, drugs aren't cool kids, but you gotta love the way Nick Drake says "cocaine", right?

Please enjoy this old gem, and if you've never heard any Nick Drake before GET ON IT!! It is clear that artists such as Alexi Murdoch and Johnny Flynn have taken great inspiration from this legend, so if your a fan of them, i have no doubt you'll be a fan of him!

On the advent of this weeks painfully gripping Breaking Bad, we thought that the Song of the Week should be one of our favorite songs from the diamond studded collection included in the shows soundtrack.

Darondo's Didn't I acts as an ironic counterpart to the hints of Walter White's (played by Bryan Cranston) decent into Heisenberg, the character we know today. In addition to his musical appearance in Breaking Bad, in June of this year Darondo died at the age of 66. So let us pay homage to a soul legend!

With only a few episodes left, we'll be providing our favorite tunes from Breaking Bad until the much anticipated finale is aired on the 29th of September.

Only a week to go until Cloud Control release their second album Dream Cave. Although we are slightly uneasy about the prospect of a second album because of the notorious disappointment they usually bring (Babel for instance...enough said.) However this single uplifts those doubts.

The Australian band have a unique sound that acts as an onomatopoeia of their culture that we just love.

Look forward to more feel-good songs from Cloud Control in their UK album release on the 16th of September.
