Been taking a lot of comfort in Psalm 27 lately, especially the Lev Shalem translation of it. I think they really captured the beauty of the original Hebrew here.
I especially love this musical setting of the last couple lines:

Hi folks, so I would really like to learn to daven tehillim/learn how to lead community tehillim davening, and my searches online for resources are not being particularly helpful. I am finding resources recommending which Psalms to read, but nothing that helps me out on melodies.
Do people usually just use weekday nusach or like idk Eicha trope or something? Or are there particular melodies or a particular nusach that one typically uses?
This is usually done during hard times and times of crisis, so my instinct if I can't figure this out otherwise is Eicha trope.
Orthodox and/or otherwise traditional pals help me out?

A tiny gem for World Book Day.
Measuring just 8 cm (3 inches) this tiny prayer book is bound in tortoise shell. The 18th-century Seder Tefilah–the order of prayer for divine service--was a gift to VCU’s Cabell Library from Ballad Cabell, son of author, James Branch Cabell.
Held in Special Collections and Archives, James Branch Cabell Library, Virginia Commonwealth University

FOR Conservative. I'm a gentile with a religiously Jewish character who's an EMT, I know Xtians and Judaism are very different spiritually but I have heard of Xtian EMTs praying before they start shifts, could I have my character pray too and if so what would be something he could do? Trying to be respectful and I'm still struggling to fully understand Jewish prayer and could use some advice before I start. Thanks in advance to anyone who can point me in the right direction.
Mod here. I’m assuming anon’s character identifies as a Conservative Jew.
There’s quite a range of practice and belief among Conservative-identifying Jews, so respondents are encouraged to speak to that variation (e.g. plausibility, how likely to be widespread).
For this ask, Jewish folks who don’t identify as Conservative are welcome to speak to their own community’s practices vis a vis this question--as long as they specify they are not speaking about Conservative Jews. Jewish communities influence one another, especially in the case of Conservative Judaism, so you may well be onto something :)
Much thanks! (Todah rabah!) !תּוֹדָה רַבָּה
