I noticed this once it was brought up in a video essay about Outlast II. Temple Gate, Est. 1971. The same year that Mount Massive was closed. So escaped Reagents slowly began accumulating just off-site of Sinyala, then Murkoff went and tried dumping their Mount Massive leftovers after the closure. Murkoff managing the land (in a very hands-off way) where Temple Gate is makes sense from a business standpoint. Risk management. So it’s a spot where people who survived Murkoff at least feel free, even though they’re still secluded from the rest of the outside world. If these are people that couldn’t cut it as Rebirth-level assets, Murkoff is still going to use them for experimentation in some way so they’re not a complete waste.

A Lame Man Walks

One afternoon Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour. And a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those entering the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.

Peter looked directly at him, as did John. “Look at us!” said Peter. So the man gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, get up and walk!”

Taking him by the right hand, Peter helped him up, and at once the man’s feet and ankles were made strong. He sprang to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and leaping and praising God.

made this for Outlast 2: Deliverance, thus the many add on places. tried originally to track the in game path and semi base it on the first large mountain landscape views you get in game. but most the actual game paths are narrow, blocked with rarely any markers on whats where. (could only semi gauge based on some mountains and by following real logic of rivers always flowing south.)

however blakes flashback black outs completely throw all that out the window. so i just took in general areas and placed what appears close to what as you travel. with major filler on my part to how blake stumbled black out went from A - B location.

(and using google maps to base timing of camping forest trails for distances)

some mild-ish spoilers hidden.

some little details are missing, like farmland around the compound, but oh well.
