Is that really all the season 5 radio clips? No more radio for me even though I'm only halfway through the season? :( Feels way shorter than usual.

Yeah, season five radio is super short :( The good news is that season six radio (the transcript of which is in progress!) is MUCH longer than s5 radio. Season seven radio is, last time I checked, a little over twice as many clips as s5 radio so far. It should  be easier to stretch these out to cover a whole season’s worth of story missions.

It's really hard to find good f/f femShep stuff that doesn't involve Liara.

actually there was some pretty good stuff! It just wasn’t worth seeing the gross shit. I know Shiara is the overwhelming f/f juggernaut though.

you guys are the best, thank you <3 <3 <3 it’s fixed and i’ve never been happier but i slept under 4 blankets last night with chamomile tea close and my dog leeching my body heat. turning on the hot water in the shower this morning was truly one of the top 10 experiences of 2017 so far, like i’m gonna have to work hard to top that

The day I looked into the Expanse section of AO3 was the day I gave up on its fandom.

But everyone I follow who's into the Expanse is great and that's all I need!

Jack/Miranda had so much potential...

I was so mad about the “fantastic tits” line in ME3 because shoutout to my ship! but in traditionally sexist mass effect fashion!

let Jack and Miranda hatefuck in ME2 and then slowly grow to understand & respect each other and then text each other throughout ME3 and finally hook up after Shepard’s party and take a day off from staving off the end of the universe to vape and make out and play video games (they both get extremely competitive and it’s close but Jack wins)

also please god get them better outfits

I also loved the Southern Reach trilogy! It kind of became steadily more incomprehensible, but it was an enjoyable and wild ride.

kshfkjsdh steadily incomprehensible is a good phrase for it. and while i would have appreciated more answers, just to journey getting to where we did was so cool and creepy and fun.

Oh man, Affinity upset me too. But I feel it’s one of those that improve on subsequent readings.

yeah, i do feel like i’d like it better, for the mystery and suspense, if i reread in the future, especially if i’m not as needy for happy endings as i was when i finished it, lol.

Of the books you've read this year, which have left the biggest impression on you/were the most interesting?

Earthseed (Parable of the Sower and Parable of the Talents) left the biggest impression on me. I was in a completely unnerved fugue in the aftermath of reading those books. They were good, good books, with interesting, complex characters and serious issues.

The Broken Earth Trilogy left a pretty big impression, too. I loved the setting, the magic system, the worldbuilding in general; it felt fresh and unique in a way that a lot of fantasy doesn’t. But best of all were the characters, their scars and motivations, and the peculiar ways they ended up connected to one another.

I had a lot of issues with Wheel of Time, but the best part about reading that series was the little dramatic recaps I gave my partner every night when I was done reading. He read them a couple of years ago, so it was really fun to discuss events as they happened with him and to throw all my wacky theories at him.
