i wonder if my mom ever thinks about the time she asked the age-old question every disabled person has to hear from their parents at least once in their lifetime, “what did i do wrong?”, while crying, as a response to me refusing to wear jeans (the only pants available) because of the sensory processing disorder/autism when i was, like, 6.
