What is the main point of the passage on BB page 792? Especially because it's fiction I didn't get what the author was trying to say.
Fiction passages don’t always have a “main idea” the way other passages do. I’d say the main idea there, though, is that Professor Mulcahy is a real pain in the butt, bordering on being a completely unlikeable person, but he doesn’t know it. The passage is humorous—the professor is surprised he got fired despite all the very obvious reasons why someone might want to fire him.
Can you also explain why E is correct on page 767 #20? How do you differentiate between the answer choices?
When the kitten stalks and captures imaginary prey, it is playing in a way that rehearses an actual function it will perform its whole life. E is not correct there–D is. The young monkeys playing by chasing each other up and down trees is also rehearsal for a lifetime of climbing trees.
Choices A and B only have to do with play, no rehearsal of future tasks. Choice C is neither play nor a task a lion would do on its own for the rest of its life. Choice E has a habitual routine but no play.
