I’ll admit I was confused why Chiron was gone even before Thalia’s tree was poisoned. Like, in the books, it was partly about distrust and partly Zeus needing someone to blame. This is… really stupid, even for Zeus. He wouldn’t really think Chiron would side with Kronos. He knows Chiron cares about all the demigods he’s training. Oh. Unless… he’s worried Chiron might side with the demigods against the gods? Oh, yikes. Funny, we never really talk about what it must be like for Chiron, seeing his students divide and then fighting each other…

All that drama and obstacles about getting the fleece to the tree and then Clarisse throws the spear; that was pretty cool.

I like how Percy knew where to find Annabeth. Did he even bother knocking at her cabin or did he figure she’d be keeping an eye on the tree?

Annabeth figured it out that the giants were a diversion. And they arrived just as Luke was poisoning the tree. Interesting and dramatic deviation from the books.

After the Giant War and her encounter with Arachne, Annabeth was able to convince Chiron to have the powers of magical border around camp also keep  out all spiders.

First of all Annabeth, Percy couldn’t know that much about Greek mythology to know that the Golden Fleece would help Thalia’s tree. Secondly, how would he know what an Empathy Link was?
