June 25th - The Electrocutioner
A couple of different villains have operated under the name of The Electrocutioner. The first was a vigilante in Gotham City who attempted to murder criminals whom he felt had been able to unfairly skirt the law. He used a specialized suit that allowed him to deliver deadly shocks of electricity into his victims. Although a vigilante himself, Batman could not condoned The Electrocutioner’s murderous methods and The Dark Knight finally put a stop to the deadly rampage. The Electrocutioner next showed up in Manhattan where he ran afoul of The Vigilante (Adrian Chase). After a series of battles, The Vigilante shot and killed The Electrocutioner. Later, a new Electrocutioner appeared din Gotham using a suit similar to the first. Unlike the original The Electrocutioner, this new version was not a vigilante but rather a mercenary and assassin. He battled Nightwing while employed by the crime lord known as Blockbuster. The second Electrocutioner later joined the Secret Society of Super Villains and some time thereafter was recruited into The Suicide Squad. A version of The Electrocutioner features in the television series Gotham portrayed by actor Christopher Heyerdahl. The original Electrocutioner first appeared in Batman #331 (1981); whereas the current version first appeared in Detective Comics #644 (1992).
