[How Did We Get Here?]
farlands
completely unrelated to anything happening right now lol.
the farlands is so fascinating, both as a consequence of how Minecraft functioned, and from a theoretical in universe perspective.
I'm absolutely sure I'm not the first person to think about it, but like imagine being a person who explored too far, and now you find yourself at this place where the natural rules of the world seem to break down, or perhaps the rules are being laid bare for the first time.
What you thought you knew, how you thought the world worked, it's not real, it never was, the proof is staring back at you.
The landscape is so foreign to anything you've seen in your entire life of exploring, nothing is clear except one thing, you should not be here.
You can't leave though, to travel back from where you came would take so long, and this alien landscape is so strange, the human need to understand refuses to let you leave.
I kinda wish the farlands could be reintroduced as an official "biome"
I know they won't, but it's such a cool world feature that because of its insane distance from spawn, would be unlikely to affect the typical game experience
I think the strength of Minecraft (or rather one of its many) is the unique things that can happen to you, the weird one off situations that statistically will never happen to anyone else you know, that element of wonder is what brings people back time and time again, and the farlands could be something like that. that feeling of wonder is also why Herobrine as a concept is so captivating, I think.
or maybe they could just add it as an optional tick in the world gen settings idk
“Holy shit, no way, I found the farlands!”
“The Farlands spawn because the max number for an integer is 2,147,483,647, Scott.”
“Huh, that’s a cool fact- OH GODDAMNIT NOT YOU TOO”
I'm back in the freaking building (I got sick AGAIN)(I CAN'T GO A WEEK WITHOUT BEING DISEASED WTF)
Anyways, as I suffer from a headache that feels like a mace to my skull, I've decided to yap about Jamato and the Farlands. Because those two things have been on my mind and won't leave me be.
So the Farlands are know to be part of the server filled with strange things, it's an exploiters dream and a regular players worst nightmare bc nothing works as it seems.
First time Wemmbu traveled, he discovered echos, pieces of the past out in the Farlands, the world repeating blocks and moments, holding onto certain ones. (Why these certain ones? Not a clue, but they seemed to have happened outside the protags, maybe they work like cannon events idk)
Jamato knows people in both the Underworld and Furtherlands Civ, probably due to him being the og player of the ogs, as well an exploiter who understands the server better than almost anyone. He's been everywhere, seen everything, knows stuff about the world nobody else does. I want to read his mind like a history textbook, he knows SO much, every missing piece, every mystery, he has answers to it.
Another person who draws my attention, Lakerek (I think that's how you spell it). I've been interested in him for so long bc why was he just at the temple, standing there? Why wasn't he with the others, why did HE have the nukes but not the others? Why him? What's special about him?
There's also someone who tends to the forest with the only working nether portal, a figure of mystery that Jamato doesn't even know. (Maybe it's Jamato? Doubtful but a possibility). Someone who knows about the underworld, the vortex spiral with the duped items, and a third thing or place we are unfamilar with, something that looks to be a city of gold or a crown. I've rewatched the part several times and still cannot tell. Could be Verdaria but that wasn't covered in gold/yellow so no clue. Leaning towards an El Dorado type deal personally.
But why these three places? What's significant about them, and who has the knowledge of all three of these places? Duped items, the Underworld and a City of Gold. Not to mention, the gold block in the Underworld, what's up with that? It's something, definitely something, potentially a revival, potentially something else.
I've got no clue :D Just find it fun that every time we go to the Farlands with Wemmbu, or really anywhere outside the main server, we are given mysteries that may never be solved, questions we may never be given the answer to.
if deanthebean9 dies so do i
