The Lantern (animated)
The Lantern
The universe keeps giving me just enough to stay a little longer.
Just enough hope. Just enough timing. Just enough people arriving when I need them most.
Sometimes it makes me wonder about fate, about where I'm supposed to be.
Because I don't think I was meant to make it this far.
And yet I have.
I've met the right people at the right moments, in ways that feel too precise to dismiss entirely.
Maybe there's a reason for that.
Maybe I'm meant for something more.
Or maybe "more" is smaller than I imagined.
Maybe it's making someone's day. Being there when they're falling apart. Saying the thing they needed to hear before they gave up.
I know I've touched lives.
I know I've helped people find themselves.
And sometimes I wonder where they would be if I hadn't been here.
It's strange.
I spend so much time helping other people find their way,
while still searching for my own.
But maybe that's part of it.
Maybe my purpose isn't to lead the journey.
Maybe it's to carry a lantern for a while until someone else can see the path.
And maybe, for now,
that's enough.
I was just admiring the beauty of this shot again and realised the absolute incredible ingenuity of the titular very long stairway in and out of hell being lit by lanterns all the way. They guided Edwin out of hell the first time, they showed Charles the way down to rescue Edwin the second time, and they light the way for them as they escape hell together.
The Lantern and the Queen of Roses - Colored
A solitary young man quietly enters the town with a lantern and a cloak that hides their grey skin and fiery red hair, the youth is an Illager on a quest to locate a torch to revive his lantern, essential for navigating the night as he explores Minecraftia in search of a spot to build a small hut. Aware that Villagers are terrified of his species, he takes precautions to avoid attracting notice, he reminds himself to stay hidden in his cloak and hurry to find what he needs. (Hi, I am a little nervous as I don't really send people starters...so I hope you don't mind me sending this.. ^^;;)
The darkness of evening from the setting sun, and the shifting of the guards from day to night watch, allows the hooded illager the perfect chance to slip in undetected.
But he doesn't stay that way for long. He soon gains a tail, as the commander notices the cloaked figure slipping between the houses...
The commander stares down at the stranger intently. It seems his hood is doing the man a lot of favors.
