I completely forgot that I was supposed to post this ages ago😂 but I’m going to do a book review on ‘The Art of Being Normal’. So first of all, I’ll start with the blurb. The blurb reads “
Two boys. Two secrets. David Piper has always been an outsider. His parents think he’s gay. The school bully thinks he’s a freak. Only his two best friends know the real truth - David wants to be a girl. On the first day at his new school Leo Denton has one goal - to be invisible. Attracting the attention of the most beautiful girl in year 11 is definitely not part of that plan. When Leo stands up for David in a fight, an unlikely friendship forms. But things are about to get messy. Because at Eden Park School secrets have a funny habit of not staying secret for long …” To sum it all up, it’s all about transgender teens and there’s a whole story around two teens, Leo and David who have never met each other before until Leo moves to David’s school. I think this book is absolutely amazing and I would definitely recommend reading it. I read this book way back in October last year but I still remember it very well because it really does give you an insight into what a transgender teen’s life would be like and even if parts of the book aren’t very realistic, you still understand. If I had to rate this book I’d definitely go 4.5-5 stars. When I was starting to read it, I couldn’t really be bothered but when I got more into the story I honestly couldn’t even put it down. Definitely buy this book if you want something like this to read 🌟
