Some people get a portrait or a charm made of their pet, me I get an dino art doll made.
This is my senegal parrot inspired raptor made by The Creature Smith! He’s based of my parrot, Georgie, who died of liver cancer in early May of 2015.
He is extremely pose-able and very light weight, so he was easy for me to carry around the faire. The sculpt and paint job on the head, hands, and feet is very nice and the shaving is clean. I like how he only has a few fluffy areas so grooming him isn’t going to be that hard, I still need to get a brush so he’s fluffy parts are a little messy in these pics. My favorite part about him is his eyes. Georgie’s kinda scary, pale yellow eyes were kinda like his trade mark and I’m very happy that they look just like his. I also like that he’s fairly accurate to how raptors really looked with forwarded facing eyes and plumes on his head, arms, and tail.
A lot of people in my LARPing group loved how he looked and so did a lot of the visitors to our fantasy faire. When I brought him out with us when we got dinner the manager came over to admire him since he was a huge dinosaur nerd and was happy to see a more accurately made raptor then what’s normally seen.
I met The Creature Smith at Anime Boston and she’s super nice! Commissioning her was very pleasant and it took her around a week to make mine. She also make’s pipe foxes, snakes, dragons, and baby t-rexes and she does raptors with bird color schemes and pride flag foxes. I would defiantly recommend her to anyone who’s looking for an art doll especially if they love birds like me and I would defiantly commission her again!
