Was thinking about the "Tumblr went down" tag team post I made and a couple reblogs from @allykatsart @canibalistic-brownie and @pealumi got me thinking about the aftermath of what happened

Ao3 is INSANELY guilty, and Tumblr tells them it's fine, but feelings start boiling over until the two argue and need time apart. Ao3 feels awful for not realizing sooner that Tumblr was down(being the site Tumblr's users turned to at the time and seeing the fics), but Tumblr is also pretty mad, not only at Ao3 not seeing it sooner, but also at themself because they said some very harsh things to Ao3

It's a divide users see and in come the near endless posts of, "mom and dad are fighting," edited or fan-made rendition images of the mice avoiding each other on the couch, "they're not on squeaking terms," memes, posts asking if TagTeam is gonna divorce and whose getting primary custody if they are, all things that just makes Tumblr groan and, when it reaches them, make Ao3 hope for another maintenance update so they can just go down and not see this all happening

The two ultimately decide to see the other, like think a cute rom-com moment where they're leaving at the same time and run into each other at the half-way point. It's awkward, things have been said, but they start off cordially, checking in to see how Tumblr's been feeling post-outage and how Ao3's doing and if they're due for any maintenance soon, stuff like that

Ao3 apologizes to Tumblr, admitting as they lose their composure that they didn't see the notices sooner about their outage and going down, that they were negligible of the fact that they needed to be with Tumblr, that they were stupid because they should've known better than to think nothing of what happened because Tumblr is their love and they were so afraid of losing them and they kick themself for not being there for them

Tumblr also starts crying, admitting they were so afraid that Ao3 wasn't there when they went down, but the time the two have been spending apart and idea of not being together scares them more. They miss Ao3 and apologize too for being as much as an asshole as they were. Ao3 admits at least some of it was warranted, given how long it took them

There's more talking, but ultimately Tumblr asks Ao3 if they can be on 'squeaking terms' again and Ao3 agrees, the two hugging and more or less back together

I'm not the best with "patching up after angst" scenes, but I hope you like it!!

I know how to make it pretty again

Ifrit finds a feather. (it's basically pure fluff)

Characters: Ifrit, Zephyr Word count: 535

Ifrit was still just in a tank top and sweatpants when he walked through the gardens. It was early, the sun had just risen, and the world was covered in cold dew, still waiting for the day to dry it. A few flowers were growing in the grass, contrasting the deep green with their bright colours. Birds were flying around, chirping happily. The guitarist kicked a stone, his tail swinging lazily behind him. He was tired but knew that he wouldn’t be able to sleep. There was a song stuck in his head, but Ifrit also feared destroying the peaceful moment, so he didn’t bother to hum or sing it.

There was something shiny a few meters away, and Ifrit approached it: a feather. It was brown, but with blue in it, and the ghoul picked it up. He had seen a bird with this kind of feather a few times, but close up the colour reminded him of Zeph.

Ifrit carefully put the feather in his pocket; he wanted to show it to them. Maybe it was a silly gesture, but he couldn’t care less. The feather was pretty, but not as pretty as they were, and Ifrit felt the familiar prickle in his stomach as he thought about the air ghoul.

The halls were still quiet, a few siblings greeting him as he slid through the corridor, heading back to the ghoul wing to make himself breakfast. The kitchen wasn’t empty, though, the smell of coffee reaching his nose before he entered the room.

Ifrit quietly entered, but Zephyr noticed him nonetheless. His hands sneaked around their waist, fingers tickling the soft skin of their tummy, gliding through the fluffy feathers of their happy trail. Zeph tried to get away from him, moving their body so their backside pressed against the fire ghoul, who chuckled cheekily.

“Stop that, you moron,” they told him, trying to hold back the giggle.

Ifrit grinned cockily, hiding his face at the back of their neck, but he stopped. His hands stayed around Zeph's waist.

“Coffee?”

“Yeah,” the fire ghoul nodded, voice muffled. His fingers were playing with Zeph's happy trail again, enjoying the way the air ghoul moved away when the touch got too light; they were incredibly ticklish.

They poured two cups of coffee and handed one to Ifrit, turning in his arms.

“So, where have you been?” they asked with a raised eyebrow.

“In the gardens, I took a walk,” he answered and reached into his pocket.

“Look!” Ifrit held the feather in front of their face, the excitement written all over his. But it got lost a bit as he saw that the feather wasn’t as perfect any more; his pocket had demolished the individual fibres. Now there were big gaps, and it looked oily.

“Oh…” he said quietly and looked quite disappointed with himself.

Zeph tilted their head, a questioning gaze.

“It looked really pretty, like your feathers,” the other explained. “But my pocket destroyed it…”

Zeph's gaze softened a bit, their heart aching as they saw how upset he was.

“It’s not destroyed, ‘frit. I know how to make it pretty again,” they told him and kissed his cheek on a whim.
