One of a many reminders we are sending the next couple days! We, the organizers of the New Moon Mycology Summit want all of its participants to feel safe and empowered in their bodies, hearts, and minds. Language that is discriminatory, derogatory, or prejudice towards a specific race, religion and or the lgbtq plus community is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. In order to foster folks feeling awesome and confident about expressing themselves and bearing their skills and beauty, the New Moon organizers, coordinators, staff, and volunteers will not tolerate inappropriate behavior involving language, and/or touch that is non-consensual. Physical or emotional threats and harassment are not allowed. Period. We reserve the right to expel you from the Summit immediately, without refund, should we become aware of any problems pertaining to this regulation. In your interactions with others, please remember that only “yes” (not silence) qualifies as consent. Whether you are borrowing an item or rubbing someone’s shoulders, be sure to ask first. Don’t assume that what is standard behavior for you will be acceptable to others. Please pay attention what you say, your body language, and touch. Keep your eyes and ears open to notice if things you are doing or saying are causing those around you to feel unsafe or dis-empowered. If you are unclear about this request, or are experiencing challenges around it, please check in with one of the New Moon staff. We welcome constructive commentary and feedback on this community policy. The New Moon Mycology Summit strives to be a safe space for people of all genders, ages, races, lifestyles, ethnicities, political convictions, religious affiliations, professional backgrounds, and all other valences of human experience. It is our goal that everyone here feels safe and free to be themselves. Thanks for everyone involved in this amazing moment in time and space. We gotta keep each other safe! MUSH LOVE!
