“If we never experience the chill of a dark winter, it is very unlikely that we will ever cherish the warmth of a bright summer’s day.
Nothing stimulates our appetite for the simple joys of life more than the starvation caused by sadness or desperation.
In order to complete our amazing life journey successfully, it is vital that we turn each and every dark tear into a pearl of wisdom, and find the blessing in every curse.”

Of Wolves & Women

“Wolves and Women have much in common. Both share a wild spirit. Women and Wolves are instinctual creatures, able to sense the unseen. They are loyal, protective of their packs and of their pups. They are wild and beautiful. Both have been hunted and captured. Even in captivity, one can see in the eyes of a Woman, or a Wolf, the longing to run free, and the determination that should the opportunity arise, whoosh, they will be gone...
Healthy Wolves and healthy Women share certain psychic characteristics: keen sensing, playful spirit, and a heightened capacity for devotion. Wolves and Women are relational by nature, inquiring, possessed of great endurance and strength.”

This is common in people who have endured childhood trauma. In order to survive, we become so adept at hiding our feelings that denial becomes a way of life. But over time, the denial of our true feelings and experiences prevents us from growing and moving on. We stay stuck in the past. Michelle Stevens
Even though I work as a therapist who helps many people with depression, I myself still experience bouts of depression where all I want to do is stay in a dark room and ignore everybody, even though I’m lonely af. Fighting depression is friggin’ HARD. I can tell you from experience that it doesn’t matter how many different coping skills you know of or how educated you are if you don’t have the MOTIVATION to APPLY any of it. Just hang in there. Just get through TODAY. Just do ONE small thing for yourself today, even if it’s as simple as changing your clothes. Fighting any kind of disease requires small but consistent changes every single day.
