I love a good school thriller, don’t you? And I love it even more when our protagonist is a professor, not a student. In The Sixes, as new teacher Phoebe Hall begins to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a student, she finds loads of possible motives, possible criminals and possible connections on campus, which makes this book a real pageturner. And I always love a thriller full of campus secrets. We mostly get hints about the Sixes, who seem to be behind all the trouble on campus: a powerful secret society of mean girls wreaking vengeance on men, bullying other girls, leaving 6s around campus, and using shadowy wealth to somehow set members up for life.
