Since Superman is still the #1 topic in comics right now...

These two issues presented a tough choice for a young reader. I found them at a garage sale for the outrageous markup price of 25 cents; I wanted both, but with one quarter in my pocket it was tough decision time. Ultimately, since being sucked into the earth looked more appealing that going to the dentist, I went with Superman over Action Comics.  On a side note, Nick Cardy has to be in the conversation of greatest cover artists in the history of the industry. The guy was a master of composition, anatomy, and pure dynamic energy.

This week's #ncbd arranged by anticipation. #actioncomics1000 is obvs first, though I kinda skim-read some stuff and... yeah, Bendis better do better in the rest of his Superman run. Also, no Legion by King. Also, don't think Kon's here either. Boo. #batman because Booster and time hijinks. Read some pages and... wtf. #animosity from ages ago and I think I can mostly remember what's happened so far. #mistermiracle because it's been good, though fairly uneven like all of Tom King's work. #talesofsuspense has been pretty meh, and I legit read the last few pages (Nat's lettees to Clint and Bucky) just to see if this would be rven slightly worth the five issues. And seriously? Clone? Seriously? #lucydreaming's first issue was good and really nailed the voice of a self-aware, pretentious teenager. Also, was just fun. #animosityevolution from ages ago and I absolutely do not remember what has happened. #killorbekilled from weeks ago and I can't really remember what happened either besides a copycat killer and Dylan in a mental institution (and maybe he just got out?). #descender has been meh and it's definitely for the best that it's wrapping things up. Also, yay, Andy and Effie. #deathstroke trade because I need to binge this series. Also, Roae's Asian Princess crap felt so tangentially a partnof the rest of this series and I really need to re-read that crap, and I say that as someone whose favourite part of this series IS Rose.
