This week's #ncbd arranged by anticipation. #theflash is first and I read it already and it was great despite some off characterisation or or characterisation I disagree with. #venom is next because the forst issue surprised me, especially Stegman's art which I usually don't like. #hawkman's preview pages were alright, so I'm gonna give it a go. Not a Venditti fan though. #mistermiracle has been good, if a bit sidetrack-y, though I think it defs improved when the baby had stuff happen into it. Haven't started #themanofsteel yet but flipped through it, and I saw some kinda neat moments. #animosityevolution is really ramping up, though the plot with the mice is meh. #batgirl vs. #riddler which I question, because... Babs? Really? Why would she give a fuck? Why not Tim? #newsuperman trade because this series is really good and I'm sad it's ending. It was good while it lasted and as an Asian-Australian, I like that I was represented in a way besides "Captain Dim Sum". #milkwars was bleh, but I wanna read it after DP vol 1 & 2 and see if thst helps, especially since DP just petered out. This week's #ncbd arranged by anticipation. #actioncomics1000 is obvs first, though I kinda skim-read some stuff and... yeah, Bendis better do better in the rest of his Superman run. Also, no Legion by King. Also, don't think Kon's here either. Boo. #batman because Booster and time hijinks. Read some pages and... wtf. #animosity from ages ago and I think I can mostly remember what's happened so far. #mistermiracle because it's been good, though fairly uneven like all of Tom King's work. #talesofsuspense has been pretty meh, and I legit read the last few pages (Nat's lettees to Clint and Bucky) just to see if this would be rven slightly worth the five issues. And seriously? Clone? Seriously? #lucydreaming's first issue was good and really nailed the voice of a self-aware, pretentious teenager. Also, was just fun. #animosityevolution from ages ago and I absolutely do not remember what has happened. #killorbekilled from weeks ago and I can't really remember what happened either besides a copycat killer and Dylan in a mental institution (and maybe he just got out?). #descender has been meh and it's definitely for the best that it's wrapping things up. Also, yay, Andy and Effie. #deathstroke trade because I need to binge this series. Also, Roae's Asian Princess crap felt so tangentially a partnof the rest of this series and I really need to re-read that crap, and I say that as someone whose favourite part of this series IS Rose. This week's #ncbd arranged by anticipation. #doomsdayclock is first because duh. Read it already, but if I didn't, I'd have said I'm excited to see what Johns does, but I am not considering it canon with Moore's work. #renewyourvows because Jody Houser is on it and I wannaread Annie as a teenager. Read the first four or so pages before buying it and liked them. Defs an improvement over when I last read it. #snotgirl is always a good time, so fuck yeah! #animosityevolution's first issue was really good, so excited for it. Telling an interesting story that fits into the Animosity world really well. Interested in a potential crossover if Jesse meets Adam. #doompatrol is really frustrating, because its delays (which are so bad they're holding up THE ENTIRE YOUNG ANIMAL LINE) that I barely remember what's happening between issues. Hope this issue is good and doesn't require me to really remember the previous issues. #wonderwoman (I changed my mind on the order but cbf to take another pic) as been good, but it's still just setup. C'mon, guys! Get to the meat of it! #godcomplex's first issue was good, if cryptic. Good setup though.
