DEPRESSION TIPS
Shower. Not a bath, a shower. Use water as hot or cold as you like. You don’t even need to wash. Just get in under the water and let it run over you for a while. Sit on the floor if you gotta.
Moisturize everything. Use whatever lotion you like. Unscented? Dollar store lotion? Fancy 48 hour lotion that makes you smell like a field of wildflowers? Use whatever you want, and use it all over your entire dermis.
Put on clean, comfortable clothes.
Put on your favorite underwear. Cute black lacy panties? Those ridiculous boxers you bought last christmas with candy cane hearts on the butt? Put them on.
Drink cold water. Use ice. If you want, add some mint or lemon for an extra boost.
Clean something. Doesn’t have to be anything big. Organize one drawer of a desk. Wash five dirty dishes. Do a load of laundry. Scrub the bathroom sink.
Blast music. Listen to something upbeat and dancey and loud, something that’s got lots of energy. Sing to it, dance to it, even if you suck at both.
Make food. Don’t just grab a granola bar to munch. Take the time and make food. Even if it’s ramen. Add something special to it, like a soft boiled egg or some veggies. Prepare food, it tastes way better, and you’ll feel like you accomplished something.
Make something. Write a short story or a poem, draw a picture, color a picture, fold origami, crochet or knit, sculpt something out of clay, anything artistic. Even if you don’t think you’re good at it. Create.
Go outside. Take a walk. Sit in the grass. Look at the clouds. Smell flowers. Put your hands in the dirt and feel the soil against your skin.
Call someone. Call a loved one, a friend, a family member, call a chat service if you have no one else to call. Talk to a stranger on the street. Have a conversation and listen to someone’s voice. If you can’t bring yourself to call, text or email or whatever, just have some social interaction with another person. Even if you don’t say much, listen to them. It helps.
Cuddle your pets if you have them/can cuddle them. Take pictures of them. Talk to them. Tell them how you feel, about your favorite movie, a new game coming out, anything.
May seem small or silly to some, but this list keeps people alive.
***At your absolute best you won’t be good enough for the wrong people. But at your worst, you’ll still be worth it to the right ones. Remember that. Keep holding on.
*** In case nobody has told you today I love you and you are worth your weight and then some in gold, so be kind to yourself and most of all keep pushing on!!!!
Find something to be grateful for! ❤️❤️❤️

I have never been happy with someone, not in a relationship, and not in love. It is all fleeting, sometimes fun, but always temporary. I have never been as happy with someone in the long run as I am alone. I have thought about this a lot, and it feels like my heart has a shape to it, much like a piece of a puzzle. It takes a long time to get to know someone's heart, sometimes it even takes levels of intimacy in sex or dating and relationship to get deep enough, to see enough, to uncover enough to realize maybe it doesn't quite fit after all. It's like when you get to know someone you peel back each layer to get a better view, but so far my piece has not connected with another underneath, and every relationship I stayed in I was unhappy because of this. We just did not fit hearts. It's better to only have your half than to know that together you don't make a whole, but there also may be someone that could make you whole. Without being whole, I cannot be happier with someone than just with myself. When things don't fit, it's inevitable. I vow in the future to take my time to see what is underneath the layers of each girl's heart before I find myself deep into something that doesn't match up, that doesn't make me happy or whole. I want to take things slow, surround myself with friends before even thinking about intimate women. I don't like the feeling of being forced into a mold. I will not be the piece they tell me I am, nor will I let myself be left or cheated for a better fit. I keep a fine distance from myself and every woman that I meet, just so I may one day see into their hearts and be able to spot the woman that's heart best matches me.

In the summer I just keep a jug of cold-press tea in the fridge by tossing a teabag into the water and letting it seep cold. It takes longer than hot water, of course, because chemistry; but if you replace the teabag about once a day with a new one and you let it sit overnight, you get infinite tea.

I use Google Translate just about every day.
I have my browser set to automatically use Google Translate to convert all the foreign websites I visit to English. I frequently use it to add short short phrases to emails in the language of the recipient to help break the ice and move the conversation to more friendly and informal. I also use it when reading a lot of literary criticism where the author is so conceitedly academic that they just assume I know a passage they are quoting in its original French. I am amazed at the languages I have so readily at my finger tips and the ease and convenience of its use. Check out the languages covered in the link below.
