My brain: you can get rid of the silver tree parasite but only the same way you do with those long ass foot worm parasites. By pulling all the roots out from the seed. But if any piece breaks off then it'll be twice as bad. So for Qifrey someone (Olruggio) would have to get ahold of his missing eye and then using tweezers pluck the seed out and have to keep pulling until all the roots are out. This will take hours. Qifrey does have to be awake during the whole thing but he also needs to be surprised by the operation so the hope of being free doesnt turn him into a tree. Olruggio is deeply traumatized by the entire thing. Ironically Qifrey is not. Whats a bunch of pain to him? Whats one more moment he and olly are bound together in torment as partners in pain?
