"We must find time to stop and thank the people who make a difference in our lives." -John F. Kennedy I want to give a shout out to Doug, my favorite bus driver. Doug was with @kathygraul28 and I all of installation day. We talked about everything under the sun and he even picked the placement of some leaves and flowers on the bus. He made sure the bus was never too cold or too warm for us and was positive & eager to help the whole day. A highlight for me was hearing his stories. Doug told me: "To be a bus driver you have to either really like driving or really like people. Luckily I like both!" I asked him what his favorite experience as a bus driver was. He wasn't able to single out a specific memory (too many good ones) but said that he loves talking w/ everyone who gets on and loves when they talk to him. He's made some good friends on his route and especially loves talking to the kiddos who are still fascinated by riding the bus. Doug is a really an amazing guy and it was a privilege to hang out w/ him all day. I wanted to recognize Doug not just because he's wonderful but also as a reminder to us all that the person driving the bus is a real live human being with feelings. They appreciate & deserve our greetings, good manners, and gratitude.
