Rewatched Thor: the Dark World for the first time in years and honestly it’s not even a bad movie, it’s just the last 15-20 minutes that suck. Malekith is boring and the dark elves are whatever but it’s a lot of fun. I’m biased as fuck but Loki honestly carried the movie and it drops off after his “death scene” tbh. Even my boyfriend was going to leave the room after he died if that’s any indicator LMAO (I asked him to stay and finish it with me tho esp cause he’d never seen Thor 2 before).
Idk. It’s fun and really pretty and I think it gets a worse rap than it deserves.
rewatching random mcu movies to feel something and gotta say. idk why i used to get so sad whenever loki died. objectively its kinda fucking hilarious. he sees the opportunity to do it and immediately reverts to plan A - Pretend To Die. and thor falls for it every time so its an added bonus.

Thor 2! trucking along this list. I am skipping Agents of SHIELD S1 just because I...don't care about it. I've seen it twice before, and I'm doing this for myself :) I have less to say about this movie because it's mostly fight scenes and Jane falling into the plot.

I believe it 100% applies to Frigga’s death in Thor: The Dark World.
Frigga died for who she was and who she loved. She loved her son, Thor, and, by extension, she loved the mortal he had fallen in love with, no matter Jane’s lifespan (or lack thereof). She stood for her people. She stood for the light. She stood against the oncoming darkness and she stood against those who sought to harm her son’s beloved.
She fell where she stood. She died knowing that she had kept Jane safe. She died knowing that her son would honor her sacrifice. She sacrificed herself, infuriating the bad guys in the process, and delaying their hostile takeover of the universe. She died with a smirk of defiance against her enemies.
It was sad. Her death was mourned by all of Asgard. Her life was over and her story was finished. She breathed her last and she was no more.
And it was beautiful. She didn’t even think about prolonging her life by aiding the forces of darkness. She didn’t hesitate to stand by her convictions. She died with honor. With grace. With regal dignity.
And it’s over. Thor sought to change her fate later, but she didn’t want to hear it.
She knew the role she had to play, and she did it without selfishness or remorse. We have no right to change who she was.

As far as deaths go… we all have to die someday. I can only wish that I could have as much meaning and purpose and intentionality in my death as Frigga had in hers.
