Dvalin headcanons
* Dvalin is one of the most literate dragons out there, he knows multiple languages and can recite poems from the top of of his head
* Venti actively corrects people when they call dvalin stormterror and has been writing ballads about how wonderful he is.
The knights as well have been trying to quell mondstadts fears about him. Dvalin is forever grateful for this however he understands that not everyone is going to forgive him.
* dvalin just like his father is a poet, he likes to write poetry and sing songs. If he was human he would be one of the best bards out there
* dvalin wants to be friends with the ragnvidrs like venti is whoever due to the history between the rangivdrs and dragons (the whole it’s ursa drake thing) it’s never really happened
* he has always had a close relationship with the gunnhildrs ever since he was a small child. They both want what’s best for mondstadt and they were there for him in the periods where venti was away. However when the gunnhildrs too were actively scared of him it broke his heart.
* as a child he hated Rex lapis, every time he got near dvalin would grower and hiss. Now as a adult he’s still not fond of Rex lapis because they can’t really see eye to eye
* as a kid he LOVED egeria. Although she wasn’t fully dragon she taught him all that she had learned about being a dragon. She would bring him gifts like shells and pearls. He still looks back at these moments fondly
* dvalin has a lot of the same beliefs as venti. They wish freedom for everyone and believe all is equal. Dvalin doesn’t think some dragons deserve to lord over all because of their birth rights (talking about you sovereigns).
* however venti and dvalin disagree when it comes to how freedom and mondstadt should be protected. While venti wants to take a passive role in mondstadts safety dvalin wants to take a active one
* if he ever meet neuvillette they would not get along. Although dvalin is still upset at venti for leaving he would never want him jailed. He also doesn’t like the Fontaine justice system, he thinks it’s uncomfortably similar to Lawrence clan mondstadt
* he considers the other a thousands winds as his family and they consider him to as their nephew. It’s common to see wind spirits on dvalin singing little songs or nuzzling against him
* he and vennessa are still friends. They go on flights together all the time and sometimes work to annoy venti. Vennessa tried to talk him down durning his abyssal corruption.
* he sees Andrius like some sort of uncle. Andrius,although rough, has given dvalin a lot of helpful advice. Especially about how to regain peoples trust after you hurt them deeply, which Andrius had to learn to do after giving up his divinity.
* dvalin hasn’t meet varka but he can’t wait to do so. He made it a mission of his to try to meet every grandmaster. He and Jean are friends and dvalin advises her on what I try her grandmasters have done in similar situations.
* dvalin is one of the few people who know the truth about venti form. Venti told him about nameless bard and all the other revolutionaries.
* when he was corrupted by the abyss he actively chose to bring venti to old mondstadt in order to hurt him. Dvalin feels insanity guilty about this fact even though venti doesn’t blame him
* dvalin feels quite lonely often. There’s not many dragons for miles around and even fewer elemental ones. Although it doesn’t affect him greatly he still does wish to meet one of his one kind.
* every windblume venti makes a flower crown for dvalin. Dvalin keeps telling him he doesn’t have to do this but venti insists saying that windblume are for all the children of mondstadt.
* dvalin still feels guilty about durin. Every windblume he can’t help but think how much that innocent dragon who just wanted friends would have loved this holiday
* he asks albedo how the remains of durin and mini durin are doing from time to time, if mini durin ever does want to ask about his past life and what happened that day, dvalin is ready to tell him.
