👻 ghost stories: what books are you reading, how are they?
Right now I’m reading Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell and Divided Loyalties, which is a fifth Doctor novel with Adric, Nyssa, Tegan and a lot of Academy Era flashbacks. It was kind of hard to get through at first, the author was having a hard time mentioning Adric without taking a shot at him, and that can get tiring even if he isn’t one of your favourite characters. Once you get past that, it’s nice to see something that shows the Deca and references Looms and houses without actually being Lungbarrow.
And honestly, if I could switch one I had digitally and which one I had the hard copy of, I might. Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell is a brick. I am probably getting more workout holding it than I am doing anything else. I’m really enjoying it though, once you get used to the rambling, over-informative writing style it becomes a rambling, over-informative delight. That is not sarcasm. You will spend a delightful three pages learning everything about a character who will never show up again on more than one occasion.
