Summary: You are a new life guard at your local beach and the person your training with is kinda cute.
Warnings: Possible swearing, flirting, fluff.
"So you should be all set. Any questions?"
"No, thank you."
You smiled at your new boss, Sangyeon, as he talked you through your new summer job. You had taken the job of a life guard at the beach, knowing it wouldn't be too bad.
"Great. You'll be working alongside Juyeon. He should be here at any moment." Sangyeon added, a wide smile on his face.
You nodded and as he finished speaking, a tall, dark haired male jogged over. He was wearing something similar to you - a white top and red shorts - you figured this was Juyeon.
And man, was he hot.
You couldn't deny that he was good looking. The sun added a glow to his already fit figure.
"This is Y/n, our new recruit. Y/n, this is Juyeon, he'll help you out."
You broke out of your daydream as a large hand appeared in front of you. You smiled and shook it, Juyeon's hand encasing your much smaller one.
"Nice to meet you." He greeted sweetly.
"Likewise." You managed to say as your hands fell apart, instantly leaving a cold feeling on your skin.
Sangyeon left the both of you, letting Juyeon show you over to his station. It was a small hut raised high by some steps.
"So, what made you apply for the job? Most people want to spend their summer on the beach, not watching over it." He asked.
"I need a bit of money before starting college after summer." You answered.
"What made you apply?" You returned the question with a cheeky grin.
Juyeon laughed as he looked down to you, before focusing back on the water.
"My friends all work here, so we thought it would be more fun. I get to sit here in the sun relaxing. It isn't often that you have to spring into action." He answered with a chuckle.
You smiled, his laugh was contagious and his voice was like honey. Was it weird to think this about someone you met less than five minutes ago though?
Throughout the day, Juyeon told you all about your job and responsibilities. It mostly involved watching over the beach, making sure nobody got into danger.
"Honestly, not to jinx it, it's an easy job." Juyeon bragged.
"Hmm? How so?" You asked with a teasing smile, one to which, Juyeon returned.
"As I said before it's not often you have to spring into action. Most people don't go far out into the water, just chill on the beach." He answered.
"Well, let's hope that doesn't happen on my first day." You joked, which made him laugh.
You and Juyeon spent the morning chatting as you watched over the beach, making sure nobody got into danger or needed help. It was nice, getting to know him, he was easy going and fun to talk to.
At around one, two other males in lifeguard clothes walked over, teasing one another and laughing. Juyeon waved as they approached.
"Who are they?" You asked.
"That's Sunwoo and Eric, they are taking over for their shift." Juyeon responded.
You nodded but couldn't help but feel down. You were having a fun time chatting with Juyeon.
"Hey Hyung, how's the newbie getting on?" The blonde one called loudly.
"Y/n, and great." Juyeon answered.
"Nice. Well I'm Eric, this is Sunwoo. Hopefully we can keep you around! Nobody usually gets on with Juyeon Hyung." He responded, giving you a friendly smile.
"Especially a girl!" Sunwoo teased.
"Shut it." Juyeon grumbled as he picked up a black backpack.
You followed him as he walked away from the playful duo, a faint blush and small smile on your face.
"So, you wanna go grab some lunch? I know a good sandwich spot around the corner." Juyeon offered.
"Yes! I-I mean, sure sounds cool." You stuttered.
Juyeon chuckled but didn't say another word. You both walked off the beach and onto the boardwalk area, before arriving at a small sandwich shop and as you entered, a voice shouted from behind the counter.
"Hey Ju! Usual?"
"Make it two please, Jacob!" Juyeon returned.
You looked over and saw a guy at the counter, his light brown hair was neat as a sweet, gentle smile rested on his face.
Juyeon pulled you over to sit at a table near the window. Both of you were in a comfortable silence, until two sandwiches were placed in front of you.
"Who's your friend?" The male, Jacob, asked.
"This is Y/n, she's a new lifeguard. Y/n, this is Jacob, one of my many friends." Juyeon introduced.
"Nice to meet so many of your friends in one day." You said.
"Male friends. Juyeon doesn't really have female friends." Jacob replied, emphasising the word.
You giggled and could see the blush appear on Juyeon's face. Jacob then left the two of you to enjoy your sandwiches and chat.
"Hey, Y/n?" Juyeon suddenly called.
"Yeah?" You responded, looking up at him.
"Do you wanna hit the arcades after this?" He suggested.
"Definitely!" You cheered in excitement.
Juyeon smiled and you knew this job was going to be fun.
