i just realized that even if we think we can change the future, we definitely cannot, because our actions (that we do bcuz we think itll change the future) will be in the future, and therefore be the “future” that we thought we could change
like if i was looking at a box full of walnuts, and im about to take one. but then i think: “but what if one of them is poisoned?” ok so ive established that my death will be the “future”. so instead of taking that walnut, i take another walnut, thinking that ive just avoided death. and i eat the walnut, and i die. i was not able to change the future…because i thought i could change the future.
in this case, if i had never looped back to my original position in time (right before i grabbed a walnut), i wouldve never avoided my death AKA the future, because me back then would be thinking “oh let me change the future” and id still do the action
No just cuz i think i can grab the original walnut cuz it sounds so easy to do doesnt mean i will, because in a same situation replayed again, the original walnut couldve been poisoned. this is cuz real life is unpredictable, and real life never replays the exact same situation again.
so basically. if i made a decision bcuz i thought i could change the future with it, i made a decision that is exactly the same if i hadnt thought i could change the future with it
