Psychedelic, Latin, spiritual. With these three words I would define this album, but I think for this occasion it would be worth sharing the ZZK Records review too:

"Hypnotic and deeply psychedelic, TIMEBEING truly reflects the rich variety of Latin American sounds -and their intersection with various aspects of electronic music- but Uji taps into traditions, both musical and spiritual, that cannot be limited by borders. Transcendence is the goal, and the album moves through fantastical spaces that may or may not exist: a metallic jungle, a Balkan spaceship, a cloud that morphs into a tumultuous whirlpool. All the while, Uji travels through history, consulting both ancestors and futurists, as he opens the doors of perception and writes a new mythology about what it means to be human." This is exactly the sensation it transmitted to me, as if in a distant future the only thing that could evidence the existence of human life was music, a mixture of ancestral sounds and programmatic noises.

Entire world

The way the self arrays itself is the form of the entire world. See each thing in this entire world as a moment of time.

Things do not hinder one another, just as moments do not hinder one another. The way-seeking mind arises in this moment. A way-seeking moment arises in this mind. It is the same with practice and with attaining the way.

Thus, the self setting itself out in array sees itself. This is the understanding that the self is time.

Even though

Even though you do not measure the hours of the day as long or short, far or near, you can still call it twelve hours. Because the signs of time’s coming and going are obvious, people do not doubt it. Although they do not doubt it, they do not understand it. Or, when sentient beings doubt what they do not understand, their doubt is not firmly fixed. Because of that, their past doubts do not necessarily coincide with the present doubt. Yet, doubt itself is nothing but time.

I always thought that a day in the life of a Providence Firefighter assigned to the EMS division would make a great book. One day I decided to take notes. I used one of those little yellow Post it note pads and scribbled away for four days. The books Rescuing Providence and Rescue 1 Responding are the result of those early nearly indecipherable thoughts.

I’m glad I took the time to document what happens during a typical tour on an advanced life support rig in Rhode Island’s capitol city. Looking back, I can hardly believe I lived it. But I did, and now you can too. Many thanks to GoLocalProv.com for publishing the chapters of my books on a weekly basis from now until they are through. I hope that people come away from the experience with a better understanding of what their first responders do, who they are and how we do our best to hold it all together,
